Douglas Exception’eyes kit review

douglas exceptioneyes kit

Long time no see, I’ve been slacking a little with the blog because I was very busy at work, but now I’m back, at least for a while. You’re probably wondering why would I review this kit since it’s not something new.

In fact, it was a holiday kit sold by Douglas last year, but I only bought it last summer when it was 60% off. I decided it’s a good idea to write about it because there will surely be holiday kits this year as well and so you know if it’s worth it or not.

The kit comes in beautiful packaging, a cardboard box with a glittery plastic holder where the products are placed on and a plastic sleeve, also nicely decorated with tiny golden stars. I think it would really be a nice gift for someone or for yourself. Let’s see what the kit contains.

The mascara also has a very nice packaging, it comes in a silver metal tube with black writing on it that doesn’t come off easily like in the case of some plastic tubes. It has a nice wand, that is perfect if you want your lashes to be separated and defined. The 5 benefits of the mascara are it defines, it curves, it lengthens, it thickens and it intensifies. Like you probably guessed it, it’s black.

Although I do like this mascara and it’s perfect for what I want a mascara to be, I must say that it doesn’t really offer all the 5 benefits. It defines the lashes, it helps hold the curves, it lengthens and it intensifies the color due to the formula that is not thick and it doesn’t make the eyelashes look clumpy. However, if you want thicker lashes and basically more volume, I don’t think it does what it claims.  The only downside for me is that the mascara is not waterproof. Like at all. If your eyes tend to water a lot, you will probably end up with mascara stains around the eyes. The mascara has 9 grams.

Douglas felt tip eyeliner

I hope you will forgive me, but I can’t review this product because I haven’t started using it yet. It comes in the shade Extra Black. I haven’t used it yet because I use eyeliners rarely because I just can’t get a wing right and I don’t have the time and patience to play around and start my eye makeup all over if I mess it up. I’m currently using another eyeliner pen on the rare occasions when I do venture to line my eyes, so I don’t want to open this one up so it gets dry before I can even use it properly. The eyeliner has 1,6 grams.

Both products are made in Italy. What I can say about this kit is that if you want a lengthening and defining mascara, it’s definitely worth it because you get the eyeliner pen for free. If you see it on sale, it’s even better because only the mascara is sold for about 15-16 euros and I bought the entire kit for less than 10 euros, so it was a great deal. Even if the eyeliner is bad, the mascara is still worth it. It’s not the greatest I have ever tried, but it does have a formula that I like how it feels and how it looks.
