Revolution Beauty Re-loaded Newtrals 3 eyeshadow palette review

I was weak regarding my decision not to buy any more eyeshadows at least until the holiday season, but I bought two and I also got an additional palette as a gift with purchase. So…I’m not doing that great and I already have too many eyeshadows than I could possibly use. And I still want more.

This palette was launched earlier this year as part of a series of 4 I think, which should represent a reinterpretation of the new neutral eyeshadows, which are all with a lot of pinks and reds and berry shades ever since the Modern Renaissance craze. Since I didn’t order this palette because I’m not to keen on the color scheme, I decided it should be the first one up for review. This palette is sold for 4 pounds in the UK if I’m not mistaken and I got it for around 6 euros in Romania. I usually buy Revolution Beauty products from an online shop that sells here because I don’t have to deal with customs and shipping and all of that, so I don’t mind paying a little extra.

It contains 15 eyeshadows at 1,1 grams/pan and it’s cruelty-free. The packaging is as basic as it could be because it’s one of their cheapest palettes. It comes in a black plastic case with a transparent lid and the shades have no names, so it’s a bit hard to talk about them. It also doesn’t have a mirror, obviously. I don’t think it’s one of their dupe palettes as far as I know of, but it does remind me a little of the ABH Subculture palette. Here are some swatches as – some of the shades to stain a little so know that you have to work a little to get them off.

I think you know by now that I’m not picky when it comes to cheap eyeshadows, so for the price, the quality is ok. The shimmer shades are my favorite part because I like shimmers and because these seem to have a better quality and are easier to work with. Unfortunately, there’s only 4 of them and 2 shades that are those mattes with tiny shimmer flakes in them – the pink shade in the top left corner and the light brown on the second row to the right, next to that aubergine color. The shimmers are two pinks and two golds in different shades but they are a little similar.

The mattes are more powdery than the ones in the chocolate bar palettes from the I Heart Revolution line, which means you have to dip your brush lightly into them. At the first glance, they seem to be very pigmented, but some of them need to be built up, or they can look a little patchy. That dark color on the bottom row in the middle is supposed to be a black but it’s not a deep black.

Overall, I’m not that inspired when using this palette because I seem to only come up with variations of brown mixed with pinks or reds and gold. If you like these color and you’re a beginner and want to start your makeup collection or if you simply want to have some drugstore options at hand, then by all means, at this low price, you should definitely try it. But if you decide to skip this palette, I don’t think you’re missing out on much.
