Revolution Beauty Reloaded Newtrals 2 eyeshadow palette review

revolution beauty newtrals re-loaded 2

Hello lovely people, today I’m coming at you with a review and some swatches for the Reloaded Newtrals 2 palette that I actually bought when I received the Newtrals 3 as a gift.

The palette is part of the same cheaper range from Revolution Beauty, it has the same type of packaging, the same weight and it also contains 15 eyeshadows. I bought it for around 7 euros, which is fair considering what you get.

I won’t go into much detail about the packaging and stuff because I already mentioned these things in my other review. You don’t get a mirror and you don’t get any shade names so I won’t bother reviewing each individual shade because it’s a little difficult to explain this way. I’ll just do a general review of the palette and mention the things that stood out to me while I was using it.

Regarding the formula, I already said about the previous palette that I’m not a fan. The eyeshadows are kind of hard in the pan, so you’re more likely to have the tendency to dig your brush into them, but they’re actually quite pigmented. The mattes are not as good as the shimmers, but they’re workable if you like to build up your eyeshadows, which I do like because I’m not that skilled to have a steady hand and apply eyeshadows in quick and swift movements.

Here are some swatches, as much as I was able to do them with my crappy camera.

The palette contains browns, pinks, reds, some red-orange shades, and one matte white shade. No black, if that matters to you. I personally don’t want to use black for every look, but I know some people like to have their blacks in palettes. I was drawn by the color selection because I love love love pink eyeshadow and pink in general – it just makes me happy, I don’t know why. So, I am a little biased when I say that I like this palette more than the Newtrals 3 although they have the exact same formula. Some of the colors do stain the skin a little, so be aware of that.

The palette has 4 shimmers in it, which I do like how they look and how they apply – a light pink, a berry shade, a darker red shade, and a pale gold shade. There are also two eyeshadows that I think have rather a satin finish, not purely matte, the two shades in the top left corner, a pale pink and a coral pink. I think you can use them both in the crease or on the lid, however you want. There is also the brown shade on the top row which is one of those that is a matte but has tiny golden sparkles in it. Some people don’t like these kinds of mattes but I personally have nothing against them.

What I do appreciate about this palette is that even if the color range is not diverse, the shades do look different and you don’t have the impression that you always obtain the same looks.

My favorite shades are all the shimmers – just because I like shimmers and I have no application issues with them, that second satin pink-coral shade that looks so bright and warm at the same time, and the matte chocolate brown from the last row.

Overall, I love the colors, I’m not a big fan of the mattes formula and I think it’s something suitable for those who want to have affordable eyeshadows of decent quality in their collection. From what I tried so far from Revolution Beauty, I do think that the quality is very similar to the chocolate bar palettes from this brand, but for those, you’re paying more for the packaging. Just my personal opinion. So far, for each palette I’ve used from them there are certainly hits and misses in each one, I can’t say that there’s a palette that is perfect just the way it is.
