I debated whether I should write about this hair mask or not, simply because most of my readers are not from Europe and I don’t know if this product is available worldwide. However, I decided to review it because it might be helpful for those who do want to find out more about this interesting brand.

The hair mask is produced in Poland, but it’s part of a line of products inspired by traditional German cosmetics. The name of the brand translates as The recipes of grandma Gertrude. This hair mask, just like other products from the brand is free of parabens and synthetic fragrances and contains more than 95% natural ingredients. It’s not tested on animals. Here in Romania, I saw these products in shops who sell natural, bio and organic products.

This is the shine and strength mask with iris and sage extract, suitable for all hair types. It comes in a plastic jar in a generous amount of 300 ml. I can’t remember the exact price, but I know it was very affordable around 4-5 euros.

The mask is applied on damp hair, after shampooing and it’s supposed to be left on for 5 minutes before rinsing it out. I use it just once a week because my hair is oily and I want to avoid making it even oilier, but I do need a mask from time to time because I color my hair. Sometimes I leave it for 5 minutes, other times I just leave it one for a couple of minutes while I spread it on the entire length of the hair and then I rinse it out.

It has a pale pink color and a faint fragrance, probably because of the iris but I don’t think that it’s something that would bother those who don’t like products with fragrance in them.

I can’t say I saw spectacular results so far but I like the fact that the hair feels soft and it didn’t become oily. I don’t think it’s shinier than usual or stronger.

Overall, I’m not impressed with this mask. It’s not bad and it’s not particularly good. It’s just kind of there so I will use it until I finish it but I don’t think I will repurchase it.
