New beauty launches for November 2018

Once again, it’s time to round up some of the most interesting – for me – beauty launches from the month of November.

douglas lovely advent calendar skin care

Douglas Lovely Advent Calendar – Skin Care

This is the third and final Lovely advent calendar from Douglas. It contains only skin care items, mostly lots of face masks and it has the same price as the other two focused on makeup and beauty.

douglas luxury advent calendar

Douglas Luxury Advent Calendar

This one has a gorgeous design, with drawers so that you can reuse it to store other things after you’re done with the advent products. It contains an assortment of makeup, skincare, and accessories and I was tempted to get it because it looked so nice, but given that the price is double than for the regular Douglas calendars – around 40 euros, I think it’s a shame to put some sachet sample products in it. Plus, the multibrand Believe in Angels calendar that was cheaper has a much greater value.

clarins adevnt calendar 2018

Clarins Advent Calendar 2018

I always wanted to try some Clarins products, but this calendar is way too expensive for what it is because they’re mostly samples and minis. I won’t pay 82 euros just for that. But if you’re a fan of the brand and you have the budget for it, I’m sure it’s nice because at least it doesn’t contain any trinkets.

nivea black and white silky smooth

Nivea Black & White Silky Smooth deodorant

This is not an exciting launch, but Nivea is one of the few companies that actually sends me news and since I use for the most part drugstore products, this is up my alley. I haven’t tried the deodorant yet, but other bath and body care products from Nivea are actually nice. Just the face products or for the most part a hit and miss mostly misses, to be honest.  This is they no stain deodorant improved to be suited for sensitive skin as well, which can be used even after shaving or hair removal in general.

pupa rock and rose collection

Pupa Rock & Rose Holiday Collection

I like how Pupa comes out with these micro-collections because even if they are quite often, you could buy all the products if you wanted. I haven’t tried anything from Pupa yet because although it’s seen as a drugstore brand, their prices are higher than something like Maybelline for example. The collection includes 3 single baked eyeshadows, 2 nail polishes with 3D effect, 3 liquid matte -metallic lipsticks and a highlighter. They all have a gorgeous gold packaging with roses on it and if they were at least a little more affordable, I would definitely buy something to try out.

dior holiday collection

Dior Midnight Wish holiday collection

Dior is one of the fancy brands that I would like to try along with Chanel, but I don’t know if that will ever happen. I’m aware that you often pay for the brand, not for the actual quality, but still… This year’s holiday collection includes 2 5-pan eyeshadow palettes and the Rouge Dior lipstick in a special packaging, available in 4 shades.

yves rocher holiday 2018 collections

Yves Rocher 2018 holiday collections

I love the brand, but each year they come out with the same thing – some bath and body products with apple and vanilla or orange scent. Just the packaging is different, so I don’t know, this is something for those who are really obsessed with the brand or who are not familiar with it. This year, some sets contain products from the Pomme Rouge line which are apple scented and some products from the The Dore line which have a Golden Tea scent – whatever that is. There’s also an advent calendar, but they never sell it online, just in stores, so I can’t get it. I wouldn’t buy it anyway, as I have most of the products in it and they never put limited edition holiday items in it. However, there is a nice assortment of bath and body products, makeup, perfumes, and skin care, perfect for those who want to try out the brand to see if they like it.

chalet-la-veritable-creme-de-laponie

POLAAR Chalet Le Veritable Creme De Laponie

I want this. I don’t know why maybe because I’m intrigued by the brand because I love all things that are Nordic or what…This cute set contains a hand cream and a lip balm and it’s on the more affordable side because it’s about 11 euros.

douglas beauty makeup palette

Douglas BeautyMake-up Palette

This is one of the holiday palettes in the Douglas stores. They also have a blush one, a highlighter one, a shimmer eyeshadows one and a matte eyeshadows one. The design of this palette reminds of theBalm’s Bon Appetit palette. It contains 6 eyeshadows, 1 highlighter, 1 bronzer, 2 contour powders, 1 blush powder, and 1 shimmer eyeshadow. It’s pink, it even has a mirror and it’s affordable – around 14-15 euros. I’m just not in the market for new palettes now, I don’t know how the Douglas eyeshadows are and I don’t like the colors in this one.

sephora-collection-holiday-2018

Sephora Collection Holiday 2018

Finally, the holiday collection hit our Sephora online store in the second half of November. There were all kinds of staff – makeup palettes of different sizes, bath and body products, face masks and an advent calendar that is too expensive for what it has inside. While I find the design to be very cute, like always, I don’t think I want anything from their holiday collection just because the makeup items are kind of bland and the bath and body stuff I don’t need. I prefer to invest my money in skincare and to buy drugstore stuff for the bath and shower.

estee lauder holiday 2018 palette

Estee Lauder Violette collection

This collection includes 2 eyeshadow palettes and 1 face palette. One of the eyeshadow palettes has warm colors – lots of reds and pinks and the other has cool colors – blues and greens. The collection is definitely out of my price range, but even so, I wouldn’t have bought it because it looks boring and the red and blue palette trend has been done several times this year.

Marionnaud-Advent-Calendar

Marionnaud Makeup Advent Calendar 2018

This calendar is on the more affordable side, although it’s priced at 30 euros, but my complaint is that it has the same type of mini-products similar to kids makeup that you would find in Technic or Body Collection advent calendars at half the price.

dream-queen-makeup-collection

Too Faced holiday sets

I know everyone says that the quality is not as good in these sets like in their usual lines, but I would still like to try one because I don’t own any Too Faced products and it would be a good opportunity to test out some of their products. Our Sephora sells the Dream Queen set and the Under The Christmas Tree set, which are both appealing to me, but I just wish they would sell them at a discounted price sometime because now they are just too expensive for me.

caramel-melange-cracker

Zoeva Caramel Melange Cracker

These cracker sets with mini products are all over the place now, but this one is the most appealing to me because I already wanted more Zoeva eyeshadows. The cracker contains the Zoeva Caramel Voyager palette – basically a mini version of the original palette and two mini eyeshadow brushes. What bothers me is that the price is almost double as it was for the Cocoa Blend Voyager palette that I bought a couple of months ago and I don’t see the point of paying that much more just for two mini brushes. However, I might bite the bullet on this one or ask my family to gift me this for Christmas.

the-new-nude-palette

Huda Beauty The New Nude eyeshadow palette

I’ll be honest with you, Huda Beauty is not a brand that I would like to support, but this palette looks gorgeous. I just love pinky-nude shades and this would totally up my alley. Too bad it’s also out of my price range.

That’s about it for now. There are tons of kits and sets launching now, but most of them are not containing new products or don’t have a particularly great value so I didn’t add them to the list. December will probably be a slow month, so I don’t expect many new launches. From all of these, I want a few products, but realistically speaking I will probably just pick up the Zoeva cracker and maybe a POLAAR set to try out this brand.
