L’Oreal Colour Riche Gold Obsession lipstick review

Hello, my beautiful people. Since today was Christmas I think it’s the perfect time to talk about something that is a makeup must-have for me during the holiday season, which is red lipstick. I know some people hate red lipsticks while others wear them all the time. I’m somewhere in between. I’m not bold enough to wear red at the office for example, but on special occasions or when I do a very minimal makeup, I like to apply red lipstick.

If you didn’t already know, I like to browse around through makeup outlets to find some hidden gems and this lipstick was one of them. I found this beautiful L’Oreal lipstick from the Gold Obsession collection – in the US I see it’s called the Gold Addiction collection-  in the shade Ruby Gold, which is a bright red with fine gold speckles in it.

All-focus

I like the formula of L’Oreal’s cream lipsticks because they feel so comfortable on the lips and are easy to apply, although I must say they don’t have a long lasting power. However, I think this is the case with most cream lipsticks, as opposed to matte or liquid lipsticks and I don’t mind reapplying them.

The lipsticks from this collection all have a satin finish, which makes them not be as shimmery as some other lipsticks with glitter particles in them. They also contain argan oil, lotus flower oil, and rosa carmina fruit oil. They feel very moisturizing on the lips and that’s why I find them perfect for the winter season, but they don’t smudge, they just fade away over time.

The Ruby Gold shade is a red with an orange undertone and with very fine gold glitter in it, as I said before, but it’s very subtle, you can only notice it in the light. I hope you can see it in the little swatch I made. The lipstick has that typical floral scent that I noticed L’Oreal lipsticks usually have, so be aware of that if you don’t like scented products. I don’t mind it.

The packaging is a beautiful gold metallic tube with some black gradient and it has a magnetic closure. It doesn’t feel cheap and it’s something I like having in my makeup bag to reapply when I’m on the go.

I found that the lipstick has a retail value of 10 dollars in the US, according to L’Oreal’s official website, and I got it for 23 lei which is around 5,6 US dollars, so I think it was a great price. Quality wise, I think it’s worth even the full price because it feels so nice on the lips, the color is beautiful and overall it’s a very nice red lipstick to have in your collection.
