January was also a pretty slow month in terms of product launches, mainly because everyone is probably preparing their spring collections. However, there a few things here and there that caught my eye.
Real Techniques Brush Crush Volume II collection

I won’t lie, the Real Technique brushes are something that I would really like to try out because I’ve heard many good things about this brand, and this collection, in particular, is very appealing from an aesthetic point of view. However, these brushes are quite expensive here in Romania, I mean they’re not drugstore priced from my point of view, so I don’t think I will be investing soon in a set.
Essence Into the Snow Glow LE

This is another limited edition collection by essence that I simply couldn’t resist because of the cute packaging. The collection came out here somewhere at the beginning of January and it consisted of an eyes and face palette, an eyeshadow brush, a blush and highlighter brush, a sugar face scrub, a peel-off mask, a set and glow fixing spray, a lip topper, and a makeup bag. I bought the palette – of course, I did – the fixing spray and the eyeshadow brush. I wasn’t interested in the skincare stuff, the lip topper which seemed to be too glittery and the makeup bag. I would have loved to get the blush brush as well but it was out of stock since the first day it was available online.
Huda Beauty Power Bullet metallic lipstick

You know, I’m not a fan of Huda as a person, but I decided that I don’t care that much about company owners. Truth is, Huda Beauty’s aesthetic is appealing to my and I’m saving up money to buy their New Nude eyeshadow palette. Regarding these lipsticks, they’re definitely out of my price range and I don’t know where I would wear a glitter lipstick but….I want that brick-red colored one so bad!
Dior Addict Lip Maximizer gloss

I think it’s clear I could never afford luxury products, but a girl can dream. I’m so tempted to try some of their lip products because generally speaking, I’ve heard good things about them.
Black Opium Intense EDP by Yves Saint Laurent

Man, I just got hooked on the Black Opium perfume, and now they’re coming out with a new version. However, this perfume is not on my shopping list for now, because I have others in mind.
My Clarins skincare line

Clarins launched their new skincare line called My Clarins which is based on ingredients of natural origin. Considering that everyone seems to hop on the bio, eco, organic trend when it comes to beauty products, it’s no surprise to me. I can’t say that I don’t like the initiative because I think skincare, in particular, should contain less chemical substances and use instead natural ingredients that are processed in labs to maximize their efficiency – I hope what I wrote makes sense. I should practice what I preach because you don’t want to know what I’m putting on my skin currently. Or you’ll know when I get to post about my face cream.
Kat Von D Lolita eyeshadow palette

I’ve never been attracted to KVD, asides from the whole anti-vaccines debacle, so the Lolita is a pass from me. The same boring burgundy, rosy, pinky, reddish colors that have been done over and over again. I mean, I don’t even need to see it in person to notice that if you have the UD Naked Cherry palette you definitely don’t need this one as well.
Those are just a few launches that stood out for me in January, but since I’m on a low buy due to various reasons, that’s why I’m probably not that excited about the latest beauty products. Let’s see what the spring season brings around the corner.
