I usually don’t like to use styling products because I would have to wash my hair every day and that would be inconvenient, especially since I don’t have time in the morning for a shower and I have to make sure I let my hair dry before I go to bed. However, my hairstylist recommended this volume powder to me because it’s supposed to be a good product for thin hair.
The Taft line is a bit old, I remember this powder came out on the market about 8-9 years ago and since then Schwartzkopf has replaced it with a new line. However, Taft products are still available in some countries, including in Romania. What’s funny to me is that the powder is now cheaper than it was when it was launched all those years ago. I bought mine for around 4 euros from a supermarket.
The tube contains 10 grams of powder which is plenty because you don’t need to use much. You can either sprinkle it directly on the roots of your hair and tease the hair or you can pour some in the palms of your hands, rub them together and use the hands to style the hair. As a brunette, I like the fact that it doesn’t leave a white residue. It also doesn’t make my hair feel funny in the evening, it’s not dry or oily.
However, there are also some disadvantages. For one, the volume effect is not lasting for too long, only for a couple of hours. I don’t know how it works on short hair, but on my medium-length hair, I apply it and after a few hours the hair has already lost its volume. It also doesn’t work when you have to take the elements into consideration. I go to work very early in the morning and if there’s some mist or if there’s humidity in the air, by the time I get to work the volume effect is already gone.
Therefore, I would say that for a quick fix, just to spend a couple of hours out and about it works, but for a lasting effect, it’s not going to cut it. Luckily I didn’t spend much money on it and for the price, it’s a decent product.
