I decided to avoid aluminium deodorants as much as possible because we all know how those are bad for us, but it can be difficult to find a natural alternative or something affordable in price where I live.
When I saw that Nivea had a stick deodorant that doesn’t contain any aluminium salts, I was on it fast, especially because I like its discreet scent and the fact that it costs only around 2,5 euros.
As a bonus, it also doesn’t contain any preservatives, alcohol or dyes.
Ingredients:
Aqua, Propylene Glycol, PEG-8, Sodium Stearate, Parfum, Butyloctanoic Acid, Ethylhexylglycerin, Maris Limus Extract, Ostrea Shell Extract, Persea Gratissima Oil, Octyldodecanol, Distarch Phosphate, Linalool
It feels very creamy and gentle on the skin, much like a cream deodorant and I can apply it after hair removal without any problems. Like I said before, it doesn’t have a strong scent at all so I can pair it with any type of perfume or other scented body products I’m using.
The only disadvantage I can see is that I need to apply it more often. Regular deodorants (those that contains aluminium salts) are usually more long-lasting and I can get away with about 2 applications daily but with this one I have to reapply it every 3 hours or so. We do have a heat wave currently here so that is also something to consider. Also, this is not the type of product suitable for people who have body odor (it can happen even if you take a shower or a bath daily, unfortunately) because it has a very light scent.
For now, I like this deodorant very much because it’s so gentle and it feels good on the skin, it’s cheap and I can find it everywhere. Deodorants and other hygiene products are not something I’m willing to spend a lot of money on because I go through them fast, so I’m happy to find good products that just do their job and I don’t have to spend much money on.
