Farmasi Lip Plumper review

All-focus

I was determined not to write about this lip plumper because I really don’t have anything important to say about it, but then again, this blog also helps me to remember which products I used and how I liked them, so here we are.

The Farmasi lip plumper is basically just a clear lip gloss. It comes in a nice packaging considering that it’s a very affordable product (I think I paid around 4 euros for it). The tube is made of plastic, but it looks like opaque glass and it’s very slick and simple in black and white. The applicator is also nice, not too rigid and not too soft.

The formula is not that bad because it’s not a sticky lip gloss like most cheaper products of its kind, but it’s not long-lasting and it easily wears off.

Ingredients:

Polybutene, Phenyl Trimethicone, Diisostearyl Malate, Tridecyl Trimellitate, Pentaerythrityl Tetraisostereate, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Trihydroxystearin, Sodium Hyaluronate, Phenoxyethanol, Amorphophallus Konjac Root Powder, Aroma, Menthol, Ethylxeylglycerin, Vanillyl Butyl Ether

As you can see, there aren’t many nourishing ingredients in this lip gloss, no oils or anything similar, but it doesn’t dry out the lips so that’s good. What this lip gloss does is just giving you a tingling sensation because of the menthol which I must say it’s pleasant especially to cool off during summer. There is no burning sensation or other unpleasant sensation, at least not in my experience with the product.

The konjac root powder is a very good humectant in cosmetics because it contains glucomannan, a soluble fiber able to expand its volume up to 100 times. I think this may also be a reason why it was included in the formula, to make the lips appear more plump.

I can’t say I didn’t see any results, because I think it helped my upper lip have more definition, especially since my cupid’s bow is not that visible due to my lip shape, but sadly the effect is not lasting. I would say even after an hour or even less you can’t tell I have something on my lips.

I still use this lip plumper as a clear gloss and I apply it even over other lip products (although on the packaging it says to be used only on clean lips), but I can’t say that I’m impressed with the results and I will certainly not repurchase it.
