Recently, I bought a gift set containing a Nivea Urban Detox day cream (you can check out my review on the Urban Detox face cream from last year) and a face mask. This is a clay-based face mask that you supposedly leave on for just one minute. It looks like any clay mask, but with a slightly thinner texture and it also has a hint of green, in tone with the rest of the Urban Detox line.
I don’t use it for just one minute, because I feel like I should leave it on to dry before I rinse it so I stay on with the mask for 15-20 minutes, or even more. The skin remains smooth and it doesn’t get red or anything, so I think it’s suitable for oily or combination skin like mine. It also has a pleasant scent, but nothing too overpowering.
Ingredients:
Aqua, Kaolin, Glycerin, Alcohol Denat., Glyceryl Stearate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Microcrystalline Cellulose, Butyrospermum Parkii Butter, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Cellulose, Magnolia Officinalis Bark Extract, Glyceryl Glucoside, Xanthan Gum, Potassium Cetyl Phosphate, Hydrogenated Palm Glycerides, Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Dimethicone, Trisodium EDTA, Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben, Citronellol, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone, Limonene, Parfum, CI 77891, CI 42090, CI 47005
The tube contains 75 ml of product, enough for 10 application as it says on the packaging, but I think you can get more uses out of it. I think the ingredients list is really not that bad, especially for a cheap drugstore product and I love the natural ingredients in it (kaolin, magnolia extract and the shea butter).
Overall, this is a mask I would recommend for all those who like clay masks and who don’t want something that makes your face feel too tight or too dried out after using it.
