Yves Rocher 3 in 1 After Sun Moisturizing Lotion review

yves rocher after sun body lotion

Since my blog post on the Yves Rocher brand review is one of the most popular ones on here, I decided to write about a couple of products that I recently bought when I placed an order online.

This body lotion was actually a gift for my birthday which is not that great because it’s obviously a product that doesn’t have great sells once autumn is here. It has the Monoi scent which can be found in several Yves Rocher summer products and the packaging also has that summer vibe going on with that beautiful baby blue plastic bottle.

However, the lotion itself is white and it has a light texture so it absorbs into the skin very fast. It feels nice and it leaves the skin feeling silky smooth but I can’t say how good of a job it does to soothe skin that has been exposed to the sun because it’s already freezing cold here so I didn’t have the chance to test and see if the claims on the packaging are true.

Ingredients:

  • AQUA/WATER/EAU
  • GLYCERIN
  • METHYLPROPANEDIOL
  • BRASSICA CAMPESTRIS (RAPESEED) SEED OIL (HUILE DE COLZA)
  • HYDROGENATED COCONUT OIL (HUILE DE COPRAH HYDROGENEE)
  • ALCOHOL
  • BUTYROSPERMUM PARKII (SHEA) BUTTER (BEURRE DE KARITE)
  • ISOPROPYL PALMITATE
  • STEARYL ALCOHOL
  • SORBITAN STEARATE
  • DIMETHICONE
  • PARFUM/FRAGRANCE
  • APHLOIA THEIFORMIS LEAF EXTRACT (EXTRAIT DE FEUILLES D’APHLOIA)
  • CETETH-20
  • XANTHAN GUM (GOMME DE XANTHANE)
  • ALLANTOIN
  • CARBOMER
  • PANTHENOL
  • SORBIC ACID
  • TOCOPHERYL ACETATE
  • BENZYL ALCOHOL
  • SODIUM HYDROXIDE
  • LINALOOL
  • HYDROXYCITRONELLAL
  • ERYNGIUM MARITIMUM EXTRACT (EXTRAIT d’ETOILE DES DUNES)
  • GERANIOL
  • 10176v0

The main botanical ingredient in the formula is a plant called Sea Holly, which was chosen because it resist sun rays and has a great ability to maintain its water reserves, so probably it makes sense to use it in a product designed for after sun exposure care. The list of ingredients is 92% of natural origin, there are no mineral oils involved and the formula is a vegan one. On the other hand, I would be careful about the alcohol and the perfume in the formula, if you have dry or sensitive skin.

All this being said, I don’t think this body lotion has anything special to it but if you like sweet summer scents ( as the Monoi scent is on the sweet flowery side) and you like body lotions with a light texture, this product would fit perfectly for a beach vacation. Otherwise, I can’t say I see anything special about it, even though it’s not a bad product. It’s just not amazing.
