Since every 3 month I change my mascara regardless if it’s empty or not (but it’s just about empty because I use mascara almost every day), at the begining of October it was time for me to break into this Yves Rocher one that I had received as a free gift when I placed an online order.

The Volume Elixir mascara uses the natural hibiscus peptides to add texture and volume to the lashes. It seemed like the right thing to try out since I complain about the lack of volume in my lashes. It turns out, it’s not healthy for your lashes to use mascara so often because I think I have them much shorter than I used to have.

Anyway, the packaging is beautiful. It comes in a golden metallic tube, very much similar to those high end mascaras. I mean. it’s not cheap, because it’s sold here for around 15 euros, so it’s very much different from my usual drugstore mascaras. The wand has a slightly conic shape and it has a plastic fibers tip.

The tube contains 10 ml. The formula is nice, very lightweight, I would say I almost don’t feel like I have any mascara on. However, it’s not too liquidy, because it’s very easy to apply it, but you can still see it coating the lashes.

As for the end result, I think that this is a nice mascara and I will continue to use it, but I wouldn’t repurchase it with money from my own pocket. I don’t see any “wow” effect in terms of volume so I don’t think it’s really worth the higher price. If this were just a regular 3-4 euros drugstore mascara I wouldn’t complain, because I really like the lightweight formula.
