Ecooking Moisturizing Serum review

All-focus

It’s been 3 weeks now since I’ve used this serum, because I only applied at night (I don’t have time in the morning for a multi-step skin care routine) and it lasted me as much even though I had a deluxe sample size (10 ml opposed to the 20 ml full size product).

Packaging:

The packaging is simple, in tune with the all-natural philosophy of the brand. The serum comes in a glass bottle with a small pump. It has a white label with the basic information about it and it has a plastic cap. Nothing special here, but I really don’t care about packaging when it comes to skin care products.

Texture:

The serum is just like a clear liquid. It doesn’t have any fragrance and it absorbs so fast into the skin that I had to hurry up and spread it around before it dried out. It doesn’t smell like anything because it doesn’t contain any fragrance. It does leave a little bit of a sticky feeling, but I applied a face cream afterwards either way so it didn’t really bother me.

Ingredients:

Aqua**, Propanediol**, Glycerin*, Sodium PCA**, Xanthan Gum**, Sodium Levulinate**, Pseudoalteromonas Ferment Extract**, Potassium Sorbate, Caprylyl Glycol, Phenoxyethanol, Citric Acid**, Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein**, Ethylhexylglycerin**, Hydrolyzed Soy Protein**, Butylene Glycol, Lecithin**, Glucose**, Carrageenan**, Tripeptide-10 Citrulline, Carbomer, Triethanolamine, Tripeptide-1

* = organic · ** = natural

This is marketed as a serum with high content of hyaluronic acid. I can’t tell from the ingredients list, but fine, I’ll go with that.

Price and accessibility:

Ecooking products are quite expensive here. This particular serum is like almost 50 euros for the full size and it’s way too expensive for my budget. It can be find in some online stores and in Douglas stores.

My overall opinion:

Given the high price tag, I expected to see some results, especially since I was able to use it for more than a couple of weeks, but….it’s very underwhelming. I didn’t notice anything special or any kind of difference before and after using it for some time, so for me, it’s definitely not worth it buying something like this. I am glad I got to try it out though, because at least now I know I didn’t miss out on anything. Besides that, although Ecooking is a Danish brand, so it’s made in Europe I didn’t find any information on their website about them being cruelty free. I saw some mentions online that they might be, but I don’t know for sure, so that’s another reason for me to avoid the brand, at least until I find out more. The serum didn’t get me to be interested in more of their stuff, but if I ever come across other products from them I will try them out. Other than that, they definitely didn’t convince me to add them to my wish list.
