Used-up and tested #16 – beauty products leaving my collection

All-focus

I know these are hard times for everyone and this March was by far one of the most difficult months of my life, but I think it’s important to find a refugee in the people we love and in the things that bring us joy (as long as we stay inside!), so it’s time to do the monthly round-up of the beauty products leaving my collection.

Balea liquid soaps – Ginger and Lemon and Milk and Honey

All-focus

No wonder we went through liquid soaps this months because we’ve been washing our hands so often that we can feel our skin tingling sometimes. These are the last ones for now because now we use antibacterial soaps and there’s nothing fun in that.

Bevola Refreshing Wash Gel

All-focus

This was a gentle face wash I bought from a Kaufland store for normal and combination skin, with lotus blossom extract and panthenol. I didn’t particularly like it because it wasn’t as gentle as I expected it to be as my skin felt a little bit dry after using it. Bevola is one of those “supermarket generic brands” so I didn’t have many expectations. I think I got it for around 1.5 euros. I won’t repurchase it again, especially since I don’t know if the brand is cruelty free or not.

Alverde Stick Deodorant

All-focus

This was another attempt to use a natural deodorant that doesn’t contain aluminium. Unfortunately, it was horrible. The deodorant is more like a cream and it melts into the skin. I wasn’t crazy about the scent (sage and lime), but I was willing to overlook it if it were effective. It doesn’t work, I’m sweating like a pig (pardon my language), and I’m sticking to my my favorite stick deodorant from Borotalco.

Avon Foot Works Intensive Callus and Corn Cream

All-focus

This was a very thick foot cream that had also a slight cooling effect. I can’t say I disliked it, but this was another Avon product that I wanted to get rid of because I’m bot using this brand anymore. But it you don’t mind it being a non-cruelty free product and you want a decent and cheap foot cream, I’d say, give it a try.

Miss Dior Rose’n Roses by Dior EDP

All-focus

I also used up this little sample of the new Miss Dior Rose’n Roses perfume and it smells like you’d expect it. Floral, predominantly like roses but without being too sweet or too powerful. I wish I wouldn’t like Dior fragrances so much…

Mio Skincare Skin Tight Body Serum

All-focus

I really didn’t see anything special when using this serum, although granted it was just a sample size. It felt a little bit sticky on the skin which I also didn’t appreciate. It didn’t make me want to buy a full size or to try other Mio Skincare products.

ESPA Detoxifying body oil

All-focus

I could definitely tell this was a luxury product because the oil felt wonderful on the skin without being too…oily. It also had a very pleasant scent and such a small quantity actually lasted me for more applications. Unfortunately, ESPA products are out of my price range, but it was fun trying it. And the packaging was great too. Glass bottle and a cap with a beautiful marble design.

Rituals The Ritual Of Ayurveda Shower Gel

All-focus

After all the hype surrounding Rituals products I expected something more. Sure, the shower gel had a nice scent but I found it didn’t made enough lather and I had to use a large quantity to wash my entire body. Considering the price tag, I don’t want to buy the full size product or to try anything else from them, just if I get it in a beauty box or something.

Elizabeth Arden Superstar Skin Renewal Booster

All-focus

Since Elizabeth Arden is not cruelty free I definitely don’t want to buy something from them, but I must admit this face treatment does work. The skin looks glowy and smooth and it has that light filler effect where it makes the pores look smaller or barely noticeable. It really feels like a treatment you would get at your favorite salon. That being said, I used it up because I had it, but I won’t purchase the full size.

Bourjois Delice De Poudre bronzing powder

All-focus

I also have one makeup item on the list, my favorite bronzer from Bourjois. For one, it’s old and I started to get hard pan on it, plus the scent was almost gone. And two, Bourjois is not cruelty free so I didn’t want to keep it in my collection. However, I managed to make a small dent right in the middle of the pan so I don’t feel as bad because I threw it away.

That’s it for now, I can’t wait to see what April may bring (regarding all aspects). Take care and stay healthy!
