Erno Laszlo Hydraphel Skin Supplement review

All-focus

This isn’t a cruelty free brand and I wouldn’t purchase something from them, but since I got a sample size of this toner and I have some things to say about it, I decided to feature it on my blog.

Leaving the animal testing aside (because they sell in China), Erno Laszlo is a brand that I admire. Erno Laszlo was a Hungarian doctor who perfected his own formulas for skin care and became famous when he cured the acne of Princess Stephanie of Hungary. Later, his products would become popular among Hollywood’s famous leading ladies, including my all-time favorite movie icon, Marilyn Monroe.

Packaging:

I liked the fact that the tiny bottle I had as a sample size was a miniature of the full bottle. I don’t know if the full size is made from glass or not, but mine was made of plastic, white simple black and white design.

Texture:

This is not your typical toner, because it feels more like a light oil. Perhaps that’s why it’s called a skin supplement and not just a toner. It doesn’t have any scent and it’s clear. You can apply it with a cotton pad (like I did), or just pour a small amount in your hand and spread it like that on the skin.

Ingredients:

Water (Aqua/Eau), Glycereth-26, Glycereth-7, Panthenol, Sodium PCA , Allantoin, Polyacrylamide, Parfum (Fragrance), Propylene Glycol, Diazolidinyl Urea, Methylparaben, Disodium EDTA, Citral, Geraniol, Citronellol, Linalool, CI 19140 (Yellow 5), CI 15985 (Yellow 6), CI 61570 (Green 5).

Price and accessibility:

Erno Laszlo is a luxury skin care brand, so the products are rather expensive. for example, this particular product retails for 68 US dollars for the full size. The brand is not widely available in Romania, but it can be purchased from several online stores.

My overall opinion:

The toner is very gentle and it makes the skin feel refreshed, smooth and hydrated and I dare to say it feels like a serum on the face. If it weren’t so expensive and if it were a cruelty free brand I would definitely add this to my regular skin care ritual. I can’t say if there are more important effects on the skin in time because the sample size only lasted me for a week (applied once a day, in the evening), but I feel like it does something positive to the skin and it’s not just a regular toner that you could dupe from the drugstore.
