Mixa Soothing Moisturizer Pro-Tolerance review

All-focus

I was excited to find this little gem in one online store I recently discovered. Mixa is  a french beauty brand, established and created in 1924, by Mr. Roger, who was a pharmacist. The products are targeted towards sensitive skin, they don’t contain parabens, colorants or perfume. Since I think my skin has become rather sensitive lately, I decided to try this moisturizer in a light formula, so it’s not too heavy for the oilier areas on my face (forehead and chin), but it’s moisturizing enough for the rest of the skin. Unfortunately, Mixa is not cruelty free because the brand is owned by L’Oreal which I didn’t know and I’m sorry for that. It’s just that with the lockdown and all, affordable and cruelty free skincare is hard to come by for me.

Packaging:

The packaging is really cool on this one and hygienic too, because it’s a plastic bottle with a pump, easy to use and easy to get just enough product without sticking the fingers all the way into a jar. It also had a cardboard packaging that I didn’t keep.

Texture:

It’s a white thick cream, without scent that absorbs fast into the skin and it has a light texture (but not gel-like, it’s a classic cream texture).

Ingredients:

  • AQUA / WATER
  • PROPANEDIOL
  • CAPRYLIC / CAPRIC TRIGLYCERIDE

Price and accesibility:

Mixa is a very affordable brand (I think I got this face cream for just 1.5 euros in a beauty outlet, but I’m sure their products are really affordable in usual beauty shops and pharmacies as well). It’s not that easy to find in Romania in stores, but there are several online shops that sell Mixa products.

My overall opinion:

Look, I really like the moisturizers, because it’s hydrating and soothing and I find it to be great for sensitive skin. The price is also great, but the only bad aspect is that Mixa is not cruelty free. I’m not sure if the brand is sold in China, but since they’re owned by L’Oreal I’m on the fence with this one.
