I’m gonna admit once again (because I like being honest) that I bought a non cruelty free product just because I needed some face creams and I found this one and the Mixa moisturizer in an online beauty outlet and they had a great discount, so I went ahead and got them. Since the key ingredient in this one is rose water and I love everything with roses because I think they have a nice scent (when done right) and are very soothing for the skin, I decided to give this face cream a chance.
Packaging:
It comes in a pink plastic tube and it also had a cardboard packaging that I didn’t keep. It contains 50 ml, just like most face creams.
Texture:
It’s a white cream that has a slight whipped texture and it absorbs fast into the skin. It also has a rose scent, but it didn’t bother me. However, it’s something that you should keep in mind if you don’t like scented products or if you have very sensitive skin.
Ingredients:
Aqua, Isononyl Isononanoate, Glycerin, C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Butyrospermum Parkii Butter, Rosa Damascena Flower Water, P-Anisic Acid, Cetearyl Glucoside, Potassium Cetyl Phosphate, Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/VP Copolymer, Sodium Polyacrylate, Xanthan Gum, Disodium EDTA, Citric Acid, Sodium Hydroxide, Tocopheryl Acetate, Chlorphenesin, Phenoxyethanol, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Benzoate, Parfum.
Price and accesibility:
Although it has a very affordable price (granted I bought it at a discount price of around 2 euros, but still), but it’s not easy to buy it. As far as I can tell and not only from the writing on the packaging, this rose water cosmetics line is available mostly in Middle East countries. I have no idea how it was available in the outlet I got it from, but I haven’t seen it anywhere else in Romania.
My overall opinion:
The skin feels plump and hydrated and it can be used also as a day face cream, not only at night because it’s not too greasy. Although I like it enough and I didn’t have any bad reaction from it, the fact that it’s not usually available in Romania and the fact that Johnson’s and Johnson’s is not a cruelty free brand makes me think that I will probably never purchase it again. However, if you don’t have any concerns regarding this aspect and if you happen to come across this, you can give it a try because it’s very affordable and it’s actually nice for a drugstore skin care product.
