Used-up and tested #18 – beauty products leaving my collection

All-focus

I don’t know about you, but May has been a loooong month for me, so I’m glad it’s over. We’ve gone out of lockdown and now we are able to move a little more freely. It has also been a month in which I used up quite some products and I’m afraid many of them are still Balea products, but don’t worry, I’m gonna take a break from this brand for a while because my DM store just doesn’t have the new products in stop and I’m bored of the same old same old stuff I’ve seen for months now.

Balea Shampoo with Green Apple

All-focus

This is a silicone-free shampoo for oily hair and dry tips of the hairs. It smells like apple vinegar, it doesn’t lather up and overall I didn’t like because it made my hair look like a broom. I get it’s for oily hair but this one overdid it for me. It was worth a try but my quest for a decent drugstore shampoo still continues.

Langhaar Madchen Volume Boost Shampoo

All-focus

This is another German brand that I’ve only seen in DM stores. It’s a volume boosting shampoo for thin hair, with acai berries. It was the same as the Balea one, only it had a nicer scent. I don’t recommend it because it makes the hair very frizzy and dry. It did add some volume to the hair, so I’ll give it that.

Balea Professional Conditioner

All-focus

I remember I had the shampoo from this line and it made my scalp itch. The conditioner was better but I didn’t felt like it made my hair especially shiny or amazing looking. It contains keratin and diamond powder (really?) but I think these ingredients are somewhere low on the list and they don’t make much of a difference.

Balea White Chocolate Shower Cream

All-focus

This was another yummy scent from the Balea shower gel line. It does smell like white chocolate and I enjoyed using it in the shower. It’s certainly a great product considering the very low price.

Balea Face Wash Cream with Almond Oil

All-focus

This face wash is for dry or sensitive skin and it contains almond oil and vitamin E, but I used it because when it’s not hot outside (meaning during the summer months) my skin does feel too dry when I use exfoliating gels or other cleansing products that are supposed to be for oily or combination skin. It felt very delicate on the face and it contains small particles that are not harsh at all and make for a delicate exfoliation.

Ceta Intimate Gel with Bicarbonate, Aloe and Chamomile

All-focus

Ceta is a Romanian brand that makes various skin care products with natural ingredients. They have an entire bicarbonate line which includes this intimate gel. My husband and I use this gel for a while now but I decided to give them a shout out know because I truly think it’s great. It prevents bacteria, neutralizes odors and regulates the skin’s pH level. It’s also suitable for those who are very sensitive in that area and can’t use regular intimate gels or creams that contain alcohol and perfume.

Avon Care Radiant Hand Cream

All-focus

It’s not a great hand cream because it doesn’t feel as moisturizing as it should and it takes some time to absorb into the skin. It’s fine, but honestly the Avon Care line was never one of their best that’s why these products are some of the cheapest you can buy from them. It contains rose water and shea butter but I don’t get much of these ingredients in the composition because it only has a vague rose scent and the shea butter is usually a very good moisturizing ingredient.

Nivea Protect & Care Anti-perspirant Stick Deodorant

All-focus

It has that classic Nivea scent and it doesn’t irritate the skin because it doesn’t contain alcohol. It was a decent deodorant and it didn’t leave any white marks on the clothes but it wasn’t particularly warm these last weeks so I wasn’t that sweaty.

Balance Me Hyaluronic Plumping Mist

All-focus

Honestly, I didn’t like this “plumping” mist because it had an unpleasant scent and it felt quite sticky on the skin. Granted, it was only a sample size so I got to use it for about a week, but I didn’t see any effects on the skin, especially since I usually like products that contain hyaluronic acid. That’s why I like that I get to try all kinds of products in my Lookfantastic box because I know what I should try and find on my own or what I should avoid.

That’s it from me for this month. I’ll probably have fewer empties in June but at least I am eyeing some new products to try out in the next weeks, both makeup and skin care.
