I just love it when brands put out summer collections, regardless if it’s makeup or bath and body products, or even skin care products. That’s because I love summer scents like coconut, pineapple, watermelon, tropical scents overall. Well, since I have some unexpected expenses this summer, I didn’t dig into the summer makeup collections because I don’t really need any new makeup products. I have enough eyeshadow palettes as it is, I barely use any lip products because I have to wear face masks every day and I have a very minimal makeup during summer because I’m constantly sweating. I know, it sounds gross, but trust me, I don’t stink, I’m just a walking puddle of water 🙂

So, if makeup was not in my priorities this summer, I did some shopping recently and I picked up some of the limited edition items I saw from Cien (that’s the brand you can find in Lidl stores and it has some surprisingly good products) and a few items from Balea because I went to shop for some laundry detergents and other cleaning stuff and I browsed to the shelves of my local DM store, so I couldn’t resists not buying a couple of things. Now, let me show you what I got!

Cien Tropical Summer Cleansing Wipes

There were two options available and I got this Pink Grapefruit ones. I don’t use makeup wipes often, but I figured they are good on the go, or on vacation (if I actually get to travel somewhere this summer). They were somewhere around 1 euro I think. The Tropical Summer range includes other stuff as well like an after sun shampoo and conditioner and some foot care products, but I don’t trust cheap shampoos and I didn’t need a new feet cream.

Cien That’s Bananas Hair Mask

This huge jar contains 400 ml and I paid around 4 euros for it. This is a hair mask that actually has a yummy banana scent and I’m happy to report that it doesn’t make my hair greasy. It doesn’t say on the packaging for what type of hair it is, just for “stressed” hair, so I figured hey, my hair is stressed during summer from the sun and from the coloring so it couldn’t hurt.

I like this mask and I would repurchase it again if they would bring it back. There was also a lip mousse and a hand cream, with the banana scent, but I didn’t need any of those products so I didn’t get them.

Cien Beach Waves Hair Spray

I thought this would be some kind of texturizing spray for my hair, you know, to obtain those beach hair waves. Unfortunately, I don’t like this hair spray even though it’s suppose to contain sea salt. It makes the hair look wet even when it dries out and it also makes it look oily. So, now I use it only on those days when I know I want to wash my hair in the evening anyway. This was around 2.5 euros for a 400 ml bottle so at least I didn’t spend much on it.

Cien Nature Day Cream with Organic Pomegranate & Goji Berries

This face cream sounds soooo good to be true, for just 2,5 euros. I mean, it’s part of the Cien Nature line, it’s a vegan product and it contains organic natural extracts. I could not resist not picking this face cream up, but I haven’t used it yet because I want to finish the face creams I got in my Lookfantastic box.

Cien Nature Night Cream with Organic Pomegranate & Goji Berries

This is the night face cream paired with the day cream. I forgot to mention they both come in tubes and contain 50 ml each. Like the day cream, I didn’t start to use the night cream yet, so I can’t give you my opinion on it. There is also an eye cream (that was sold out at my store), a shampoo and a conditioner from the same line.

Tropical Summer Lip Balm

I needed a new lip balm like I need a hole in my head but since lip balms are the only lip products I do constantly use, I couldn’t resist this little guy, especially since it was only around 1 euro. There were 3 options available, but I picked the Sweet Pineapple one because I like the pineapple scent. Plus, it’s so cute in that bright yellow packaging!

Cien Neon Splash Nail Polish

There were two summer nail polish lines released so far. the Tropical Summer one has some pastel shades, but I didn’t get any of those and from the Neon Splash line I got this cute Magenta one. I’m sorry I didn’t paint my nails right now, but I did wear this nail polish and i got compliments on it because it’s such a nice neon hot pink that makes you stand out even if you don’t have any other accessories. I thinks it’s perfect for the summer and I will certainly get some more use out of it these months. The nail polish was around 1 euro.

Balea Pacific Vibes Shower Gel

Now, it’s time for the few Balea products that I got. DM stores don’t have the great stock in Romania as they have in Germany so there weren’t many summer-themed products on the shelves when I went. Like always, I do have shower gels at home, but I got one with frangipani scent, because they’re cheap (1.5 euros) and it’s like a tradition for me to pick one of these up every time I go shopping there.

Balea Love Melon Roll-on Deodorant

Honestly, from what I remember Balea deodorants are not that great, but I just love the watermelon scent and I couldn’t resist not buying this cute little deodorant. It was only around 1,5 euros and if it’s not that good I’ll wear it only when I’m home and I don’t go out in the heat.

Balea Bloomy Dreams Dry Shampoo

This isn’t exactly a summer beauty product because I think it’s available all the time, but since I tend to use dry shampoos more during summer, I thought I could include it in this summer beauty haul. I don’t have a favorite dry shampoo because I only tried the Batiste one and another one from a brand I can’t remember and they both worked, but made my scalp itchy. So, I will give this Balea one a try as well and see how it goes. The dry shampoo was about 2,5 euros.

Bonus, since it’s also a summer-themed item, I bought this candle at a Pepco store and I want to share it with you because I think the packaging is so darn cute! Unfortunately the coconut scent is very subtle and I highly doubt it will fill up my room when I lit it, but it’s still a nice decor addition.

That’s it for my cheap summer beauty finds. Since I included the products in this haul, I won’t be including them in my empties posts, because I don’t want to repeat myself.
