Used-up and tested #20 – beauty products leaving my collection

All-focus

It’s that time of the month again, meaning that I get to go through my beauty empties and show you what I used up, what I tested or what I decluttered from my collection.

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Cleansing Gel

All-focus

The Hydro Boost line contains hyaluronic acid (which seems to be all the rage even at the drugstore right now). It’s very gentle, but other than that, it’s just a cleansing gel that actually looks like a lotion and I don’t think that cleansing gels are really that different one from another.

Balea Love Melon Shower Gel

All-focus

I had this shower gel since last summer and I just forgot about it. It’s another limited edition like most of their shower gels and I didn’t see it this year on the shelves. Too bad, since I really like watermelon scent. The shower gel has a nice smell and it’s clear, so it doesn’t have any added colors to it.

Avon Carribbean Colada Shower Cream

All-focus

This is a product part of their Cocktail Collection that is supposed to smell like coconut and papaya. The scent wasn’t that amazing (I like scented bath products) and the shower cream itself wasn’t that creamy, it wasn’t thick enough and I went through it rather quickly because of that. Not a fan of it.

Avon Planet Spa Radiant Gold Face Mask

avon planet spa radiant gold face mask

This was one of those pealing masks with gold and oud. Sounds fancy, right? Well, it was nice but I’m not a fan of pealing masks to be honest, I prefer those that hydrate and nourish the skin because I fell like that’s where I can see a difference.

Garnier Skin Naturals BB Cream

All-focus

I got this BB cream last summer, but now I’m throwing it out. For one, it’s a medium and I thought it would be good for me when I’m tan in the summer, but it’s just too dark. Second, it makes my face look very greasy. I wish companies would put out more tinted moisturizers for us combination or oily people as well. Most of this products work great on dry skin or on normal skin, but they’re always too shiny for oily skin types. And that’s a shame because I really like tinted moisturizers in the summer because I don’t like to wear a heavy makeup.

Nivea Nude Lip Balm

All-focus

This was one of those lip balms that had a white center that’s supposed to contain very moisturizing products. However, this lip balm felt more like a lipstick and I don’t think it was moisturizing enough, especially for dry lips. I wouldn’t recommend it.

Oriflame Tender Care Balm in Rose

All-focus

This is one of those multitasking balms that I used for my elbows. I didn’t use it on the lips just because I don’t use lip balms that you have to use your finger to apply, especially during these times. It has a nice rose scent and it did the job that it’s supposed to. I used it at night, so that the balm really did its job until morning.

Mayani Fan Brush

mayani fan brush

This was part of a set I bought some time ago and now I’m throwing it out because I just don’t like fan brushes. I think a denser brush is more suitable for applying highlighters (at least in my opinion), so I really don’t have any use for this.

Taft Instant Volume Powder

All-focus

I remembered just now that I already did a review on this product, so I’m not gonna say more about it, so my bad I forgot about it.

Australian Bodycare Tea Tree Oil Bleemish Stick

All-focus

This tea tree stick was finally useful since I got it in my January Lookfantastic beauty box. It’s very effective for mosquito bites. Loved it!

Douglas Stay Care Gel Top Coat

douglas gel top coat

I got this in a Douglas advent calendar in 2018 and now I have to throw it out because it got too tacky and thick and I can’t use it anymore. I never go through full size nail products.

Molton Brown Coastal Cypress & Sea Fennel Bath & Shower Gel

All-focus

I also finished my Molton Brown travel size shower gel. It was great in terms of how it felt on the skin and because you don’t need much product for one shower but the scent was too masculine for me and it’s a shame because I was really excited to finally try out a Molton Brown product.

Dr. Lipp 100% Natural Moisturizing Colour Lip Tint in Sweet Potato

All-focus

This was a very nice product because it wasn’t sticky, it made my lips feel moisturized and it was like a lip tint in terms of color.

And that’s all for the month of July. I went through some of my old beauty stash and through some samples here and there, plus some bath and body products, just like usual.
