Too Faced Papaya Pop Eyeshadow Palette review and swatches

All-focus

The latest addition to Too Faced’s Tutti Fruitti line was this cute little eyeshadow palette with 7 summery shades. Since my favorite palette is the Sparkling Pineapple one, I wanted to add this to my collection, especially since I wanted something more colorful for the summer (I know summer is almost gone, but let me be, ok?), but that wasn’t as “out there” as other palettes since I don’t wear bold colors on daily basis.

Inspired by the colors that can be seen in the papaya fruit, this palette was a nice surprise because it has 4 matte shades, 2 shimmery shades and 1 satin shades, so it’s wearable and it gives you quite a few options to create a look.

Packaging:

Like the other Tutti Fruitti palettes, the Papaya Pop one comes in a gold metallic case, with the same cute design on both the case and the outer packaging. The palette has a mirror. I didn’t get the usual card with options for looks to create with it, but probably because I got my palette from a beauty outlet and the card is missing. I actually like those little cards, but I will use my own imagination. Each eyeshadow pan contains 0.8 grams, a total of 5.6 grams. The palette is made in Italy.

Texture:

Like all their usual eyeshadows, they feel buttery and smooth and you can easily apply them with a brush or with the finger. It’s a scented palette as it smells like papaya, but I already knew that and it’s part of the appeal for me.

Price and accessibility:

The palette was available just for a little while at our Sephora and I didn’t get it then, so I’m glad I could buy it from an outlet. I don’t think it’s available anymore because it’s sold out on Too Faced’s website. I got it for 119 lei, which is 29.25 US dollars. The regular price for this palettes was 34 US dollars, so I got a little discount. For the quality and the size of the palette, I think it’s a fair price.

My overall opinion:

Since I’m becoming a collector of Too Faced eyeshadow, I wasn’t disappointed with the quality of this palette. The Sparkling Pineapple one is still my favorite, just because of the neutral color scheme, but this one is currently right after that. The colors are buildable, so I can go from a light wash of color to a full blown colorful look. Even the purple and the yellow are not patchy and  blend nicely. The duochrome shade, Umbrella Drinks is a little bit more crumbly, so it applies best with the finger, but I don’t mind, since I’m familiar with Too Faced eyeshadows in the same formula.

Overall, I like all the colors in this palette. I like that there are 4 matte shades that I can play with in the crease and mix, like the coral, the pink and the yellow and the purple is great to deepen the look.

I’m very happy with this palette, I’m glad I have it and I would recommend it to anyone that is a Too Faced fan, likes small palettes and wants something fun and colorful for spring/summer (or for whenever you like, why not?).
