September 2020 Lookfantastic Beauty Box Unboxing (The Birthday Edition)

I got my box about a week later this month, I don’t know why, but I was excited to get it because there were a couple of things in there that I really liked. This month, it was Lookfantastic’s 6th birthday and it was also my birthday at the beginning of the month, so double the excitement.

We got 6 products and a little surprise this month. As you can see, the box has a special writing on it, it says “The Birthday Box” in gold letters on it. Other than that, it comes in the same cardboard packaging with the little booklet with information about the products in the box.

Illamasqua Mini OMG Highlighter

There were actually two options for this product, either the Illamasqua one or the Mary-Lou Manizer from TheBalm. To be honest, I would have preferred to receive the May-Lou Manizer one because it’s like the OG highlighter, but they both have that champagne shade that flatters every skin tone, so I’m not too mad about it.

I’m not that much into highlighters so I like that it’s not one of those “blinding” ones. The Illamasqua one contains 2 grams and I like the fact that it’s a mini because it’s hard for me to use up highlighters. This product is worth 10 UK pounds.

Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream (15 ml)

This was our sneak peak for last month. This is a sample size of an expensive anti-aging cream. This little sample is worth 30 UK pounds and it’s made in the UK. I looove good skincare so I’m excited for this. I already tried it once and all I can say it has an interesting scent and it doesn’t feel oily on the skin.

Diego Dalla Palma Mini Lip Pencil in the shade 80 Antique Pink

I’m not gonna lie, you all know by now I really am not into lip pencils. I guess I could use them to add some color to my lips and put some lip gloss over them or something, but it’s just not my style. And they tend to give us several lip pencils… This one has a nice color, but I know it doesn’t look good on me because pinks never look good on me.

The lip pencil is made in Italy and it’s worth 9.32 UK pounds.

ESPA Pink Hair & Scalp Mud (30 ml)

There were also two options in this box, either the hair and scalp mud or the micellar cleanser (50 ml) bot from ESPA. This time, I’m glad I got the hair and scalp treatment because cleansers are not that exciting, you know? The product is made in the UK and it’s worth 5.10 UK pounds.

Luxie 209 Large Shader Brush

I love receiving brushes so this one is a nice addition to my collection. Especially eyeshadow brushes is what I need the most, so I think that this one will be very useful. I also like the pink handle. It’s a synthetic brush worth 15 UK pounds.

Brushworks Jade Roller

I always wanted to try a jade roller, but wasn’t ready to actually pay much for it since I don’t know if it works. It feels heavy in the hand and it looks well made. I already used it once to massage my moisturizer into the skin and it gave such a nice cooling sensation. The smaller part on the bottom is meant to be used in the under eye area.

Bushworks is an UK brand, but probably their products are made in China, just like this jade roller. I’m glad I received it. It’s worth 9.99 UK pounds.

Lookfantastic Beauty Box Pop Socket

The small extra surprise we got in the box was this black glittery pop socket. I haven’t used it yet because I already have a pop socket on my phone, but it’s a nice surprise because I just started to get into these things and I find them to be useful.

I liked the Birthday Edition quite a lot this month because I can make good use of almost all the things I got. We have two accessories, a brush and the jade roller, two makeup items (the highlighter and the lip pencil), a face cream and a hair treatment, so it’s a little bit of everything. the only thing I’m not excited about is the lip pencil, but it’s rare to love everything you get right?

The box has a total value of 79.41 UK pounds which is great, considering that you pay only around 15 UK pounds for it. My favorite items are the highlighter, the eyeshadow brush and the jade roller, but I also like the face cream and the hair treatment.

October’s box will include a By Terry Baum de Rose lip balm worth 14 UK pounds and I can’t wait to try out a high end lip balm because in these mask-wearing times at least lip balm is something we can all still use. I hope the next box will be a fall-themed one with something pumpkin spiced-themed. A girl can dream, right?

I’m considering getting their advent calendar. It’s very expensive (for me) but I feel like I want to treat myself with it because there are plenty of stuff in there that I would like to try.
