Too Faced Pumpkin Spice Warm & Spicy Eye Shadow Palette review

If you already know me, and if you don’t I’ll tell you right now, I’m a fan of Too Faced eyeshadows. I’ll admit that I even like the Christmas palette I bought last year, even though everyone says the formula isn’t as good as in their regular palettes.

This one is my first tin case palette I bought from them (asides from a few minis that I have) and it’s this year’s limited edition autumn palette. I love pumpkin spice everything and I love the cute packaging so of course I ordered this the first day I saw this online at Sephora Romania, so I had this since a few days and I have already used it three times (which means I used the majority of the eyeshadows), so I think I’m ready to do my review.

Packaging:

The palette comes in a tin packaging, just like the chocolate bar one, the sweet peach and the gingerbread palette. The cardboard packaging is also cute so this is the reason why I keep the cardboard outer packaging on all my Too Faced palettes. It contains 18 eyeshadows, 0.7 grams each. The components were made in the US, but the palette was assembled in the Dominican Republic.

Texture:

There are different finishes, mattes, shimmers and metallics. The shades that have glitter in them are a little bit gritty, but it doesn’t bother me and the mattes are buttery smooth. All the shades that I used are easy to blend and I had no issue with it. The palette has a sweet smell, but it’s more similar to some candy to me, because I don’t get that spicy note that the pumpkin spice usually has.

Swatches:

Since there are 18 shades, I wouldn’t have enough place on my arm to swatch them all at once, so I took each row separately. I applied the swatches with my finger on clean skin, without any primer. Some shades did have some kick back, but nothing too concearning.

First row, from left to right:

Whipped Cream – matte light beige or dirty white, depending how you see it

Crisp – shimmery peachy pink with some gold particles in it

Fall For It – matte peach

Pumpkin Spice – matte dark yellow (this one did have some kick back)

Ginger Spice – matte orange (it looks darker on the eye, I liked to use it in the outer corner)

Cocoa Drizzle – matte chocolate brown (this is one of the shades that are sooo buttery and Too Faced does chocolate browns really well, it makes me think of hot chocolate that’s how yummy it looks)

Second row, from left to right:

Fall Vibes – metallic antique gold

Sweetie Pie – matte light yellow

Falling For You – shimmery dark green

Spice, Spice Baby – matte red-brown

You Spicy – matte magenta

Warm & Cozy – matte reddish brown

Third row, from left to right:

Oh My Gourd – metallic baby pink

A La Mode – matte rosy nude

Wanna Piece Of Me? – shimmery lilac

Love You A Latte – matte mauve

PSL & Chill – metallic purple with a blue shift

Spice Of Life – matte purple (this also has some kick back)

As you can see, the palette follow the same trend we had all year, with pinks and purples mixed in with neutral shades. And because I’m a basic bitch, I love it! I think the shades look gorgeous and they’re colorful enough to create some cool looks, but also there are enough neutrals in there to create simple looks. I also like how there’s a mix of mattes and shimmers in there.

Price and accessibility:

Too Faced products are available in Romania only at Sephora. Some online shops have a couple of products here and there, but mostly just older products that are sold in outlets. The pallet is sold for 49 US dollars and here it’s sold for 250 lei, which means it’s more expensive (about 60 dollars). I can’t complain because international shipping is also very expensive, so I wouldn’t have obtained a better deal if I ordered the palette from some other online store.

My overall opinion:

The palette didn’t disappoint me. Yes, it’s more expensive that I would usually pay for eyeshadows, but Too Faced palettes are my weak spot and I just had to add it to my collection. I think it’s a nice palette not just for autumn (because of the oranges and yellows in there), but also for any season because of the pinks and purples combination. I would recommend it to any Too Faced fan and just a little tip if you’re from Romania: don’t wait for this to go on sale. Limited edition items are usually sold out very fast here (probably because they don’t have a large stock) and then they are never coming back. I did the waiting game last year with the gingerbread palette and I missed it.
