November 2020 Lookfantastic Beauty Box Unboxing (The Firecracker Edition)

I don’t know what it is about the Lookfantastic beauty boxes that I always seem to get them a little bit later in the month. Since November is always so cold and rainy, the firecracker edition makes me think of something warm, cosy and even spicy. Unfortunately, I have to admit that this month’s theme doesn’t seem to fit so well with the products in it.

The box is a gorgeous burgundy color (I know it looks purple in the picture because of the flash, but trust me, it’s burgundy) and I swear I smelled something that seemed similar to winter spices in the box, but there isn’t any fragranced product in here. By the way, I wish they would put some nice bath products in here that are bigger than just those tiny shower gel bottles, like some nice soaps or solid shampoos or something like that, you know? I also don’t appreciate that they don’t put the prices in the booklet, so now I have to look up everything to see how much it costs. Well, let’s see what we have in the box.

Philip Kingsley Pure Colour Frizz Fighting Gloss (20 ml)

The first product is a mini size of this hair gloss that I think is like a leave-in conditioner. There was also another variant, where you could get the Body Building Weightless Shampoo and Conditioner (so two samples). Luckily I have colored hair, so I’m curious to see how this works. Since I have long hair, it’s probably enough for just one use. The product is made in the UK. The full size is 50 ml and is sold for 26 UK pounds, so this mini size would be 10 UK pounds.

Thisworks Perfect Legs Skin Miracle (30 ml)

This just a sample size. The other variant was the In Transit Camera Close-Up product (15 ml). This is another product that will probably be enough for just one use and it’s made in China. The full size is 120 ml for 38 UK pounds, so the sample is worth 9.5 UK pounds.

Polaar Ice Pure Micellar Water with Arctic Cotton (50ml)

This is another mini size product, made in France. I only had a SPF from Polaar and I like it, so I’m glad to receive this product because micellar water always comes in handy. The full size is 200 ml for 17.75 UK pounds, so the mini size is worth 4.50 UK pounds.

Naobay Detox Oxygen Light Cream (50 ml)

The star of the box is this full size product, a light face cream made in Spain. I only had a toner from Naobay but I remember I liked it, so I’ happy to have this face cream to start using it as my morning moisturizer. I couldn’t find the exact price, but it’s about 20 UK pounds as far as I can tell from different websites that sell this in euros. Later edit: you can read my review of the Naobay Detox Oxygen Light Cream on my blog.

Lord & Berry Line/Shade Glam Eye Pencil

Another Lord & Berry product, a pencil again (I have two other lip pencils from this brand) that was available in two shades. I have the #231 Antique Bronze shade and the other one available was a golden one. The pencil is made in Italy and it’s a full size product although it’s so small (0.7 grams). I also couldn’t find an exact price match, but this retails for approximately 9 UK pounds.

It’s a pencil that needs to be sharpened and I do think the shade is lovely and it compliments my hazel eyes, so at least we didn’t get the classic black eyeliner pencil.

Nails Inc. All Fired Up Nail Varnish in the shade Portland Square

Finally, the last product is a nail polish and it’s something I haven’t received all year from the Lookfantastic box. Usually, we would have some sort of tool instead of a nail polish. I just wish it wasn’t a red nail polish because I have some of those and I would have liked to have another color. The nail polish is made in France, but I can’t tell if it’s a full size or not, so I will go with the full size just because it seems big enough. It retails for about 9 UK pounds.

I’m sorry for the messy application, but I wanted to show you the color. It’s a fiery orange red shade that applies without streaking. I noticed it doesn’t have that acetone smell that regular nail polishes have, perhaps because of the special formula (after all, it is an expensive nail polish). I’m curious to see how long it lasts before it chips.

Out of the 6 products I received, I like 5 of them, so it’s not that bad, but the Firecracker Edition was not one of my favorites. The Naobay face cream is the hit product for me because I always love receiving great skincare products, especially if they are full size. The micellar water, the hair conditioner/treatment and the nail polish are all products that I can use. The only one I feel meh about is the leg cream but just because it’s such a small sample size.

The box has an approximate value of 62 UK pounds, which of course is good. Lookfantastic boxes are usually right there in the middle. You rarely get some excessive value in there, but there is constantly about 3 times the value in here for what you pay for.

December’s box sneak peek includes a great product (for me at least), the Avant Pro Radiance Brightening Eye Final Touch (10 ml) worth 98 UK pounds. Avant products are very expensive and I always love a good eye cream, so I’m happy for that. Of course, I hope that for the Christmas box there will be some special makeup item in there (can I dare to wish for an eyeshadow palette?)
