#Blogcember 2020 Day 10: Lookfantastic The Christmas Edition Box Unboxing

So, my beautiful readers. Today was the day that I received my Lookfantastic December box. The Christmas box. It has a very elegant design, with the black and the gold and even those golden confetti (I know it’s not confetti but I don’t know how to call it) in the box looks gorgeous and festive.

Like usual, we received 6 products. I hoped for a little bonus or something more special because it’s the Christmas edition, but nevertheless, it was not the case. Well, I don’t mind, I enjoyed the unboxing part very much. Now, for the products. I needed to look up the products on their website or on the official websites of the brands because they don’t put the prices in the booklet anymore.

Percy & Reed Hairspray Reassuringly Firm Session Hold Hairspray (50 ml)

I received a hairspray from one of the brands that I discovered and liked over the past year, Percy & Reed. I don’t often use hairspray, but I’m ready to test this one out. There was a different variant of the box where we could get a Sensitive Pink Clay Facial Masque from Sukin (20 ml) which would have been equally nice because I enjoy clay face masks and I never heard of the brand Sukin. The full size of this product contains 250 ml and retails for 70.63 lei, so this travel size is worth 14.12 lei (about 3 euros).

Brushworks Double Ended Brush

We got another eyeshadow brush, which I never mind because I like having many brushes yet I rarely buy them on my own. This brush has a shader brush end and an eyeliner brush at the other end. The brush retails for 22.45 lei (about 5 euros).

Jecca Blac Glow Drops in the shade Champagne

This is a full size product and it’s from a brand I never tried before, but I’m glad it’s a cruelty free and vegan product. The glow drops can be applied as a luminous primer all over the face or as a liquid highlighter in the high points of the face. I will probably choose the second option. The product retails on the official website for 17.87 euros. Later edit: you can read my review on the Jecca Blac Glow Drops primer on my blog.

theBalm Petal To The Metal Va Va Vroom Eyeshadow

This is a cream eyeshadow that comes in different shade, but unfortunately I can’t find the shade name or the price for a mono eyeshadow. However, I think this is the shade Smart, by looking at the colors in the Petal To The Metal palette, a brown shade.

It applies very nice and I can’t wait to try it on, possibly in combination with the cream eyeshadow I got from the advent calendar. This mono eyeshadow I think is worth approximately 3 euros.

Medik8 Hydr8 B5 Serum (10 ml)

This is anotehr brand I didn’t try before and I really started to like using face serums, so this one is perfect. It contains hyaluronic acid and Vitamin B5 and it can be used bot in the morning and in the evening. There was another variant of this product, the Ren Clean Skincare Atlantic Kelp Body Lotion (50 ml), but I’m glad I got the face serum because I know it will last me longer than the body product. The full size product (30 ml) retails for 226 lei, so the travel size is worth 75.3 lei (about 17 euros).

Avant Pro Radiance Brightening Eye Final Touch

The sneak peek of last month’s box and the most expensive product in the box is this hyaluronic acid and sea water infused eye cream that is available in full size and it retails for around 107 euros! Which I find just crazy because I wouldn’t pay that much for just a little eye cream (it’s a full size, but it’s still just 10 ml).

December’s box has an approximate value of 152.87 euros, which is impressive, but let’s consider that the most expensive product was the eye cream and the rest of them were products that weren’t that expensive. I hoped for something more special for this box or for a truly festive theme. I didn’t see “Christmas” in any of this. Why not add some shimmering body lotion in the mix or a scented product that has a festive feel to it like a lip balm or even a mini candle? Well, at least there’s the liquid highlighter and the metallic eyeshadow that do seem to be a little more festive. Overall, I’m not mad at this box. We got 4 full size products which doesn’t happen often (the brush, the eye cream, the eyeshadow and the liquid highlighter) all of them which I will use and also some nice travel sizes (a face serum and a hairspray). I see the value in this and I appreciate that there were so many full-sized products and no packets or foil samples. I just wish they had included something more festive in the box. However, I will surely continue my subscription with them because I’m curious to see what else they have in store.

January’s beauty box is a mystery because their sneak peek is the SVR Hydraline Rich Intense Moisturising Cream, which may be a full size because it’s 40 ml and it retails for 15 UK pounds. It’s great that it’s a full size product, but it’s not something that impressive so I hope there will be some nice products in January’s box as well. I will also compare the boxes next year, what we get in a month vs. what we got in the same month of the last year.

And if we started with the beauty box, let’s continue with the advent calendar and drawer number 10.

The Rituals The Ritual of Sakura Body Scrub

This time the drawer was a good one. Initially I thought it’s a full size product, a body scrub from the Ritual of Sakura collection, but it’s actually half the size, 125 grams. I haven’t tried it yet, but it smells yummy and I’m curious to see how it feels on the skin. The scrub retails for 84 lei at Sephora Romania for the full size, so this one is worth 42 lei.

And now let’s end the night with another cup of tea.

Zen Balance Cupper Tea

Zen Balance is a herbal infusion, with lemongrass, nettles, eucalyptus leaves, rose hip and ginkgo biloba leaves. It does feel relaxing at it tastes similar to a mint tea with some lemon in it, which is not a bad thing.

That was all for today, it was definitely fun to unbox this and like I said before, I can’t wait to see what next year has in store (and who knows, maybe I will try some other boxes as well, hopefully).
