First Aid Beauty is another skin care brand that I discovered thanks to subscription boxes. I also took a look at the other products they have on they website and I must say I was intrigued by what I saw just because I saw some things that I would like to try. I don’t know much about First Aid Beauty, but their products are suitable for sensible skin as well, including for those that suffer from eczema, they don’t contain perfume and they are suitable for those who have allergies. Of course, I don’t think that a cream can fit all, but I think it’s interesting enough to give it a try.
Packaging:
I love the design of the products. It’s colorful, not the same black/white packaging I see in most skin care products and it has a retro vibe to it. I just like how it looks on my bathroom shelf and it’s just the type of product that vibes with my aesthetic. The full size cream (170 grams) comes in a large jar, but I have only the mini size that comes in a tube.
Texture:
On the tube it says that it’s suitable for dry skin or for dry skin patches and it can be applied all over the body, so I was afraid that it would be too greasy. I’m glad I was wrong. It has a lightweight texture and it absorbs fast into the skin. Granted I use it at night because I don’t want to risk being too shiny on the morning, but I think it’s a cream that adapts to the type of skin, at least I can say that it’s applied nicely on combination skin. It’s a white cream and it doesn’t have any scent (due to the lack of perfume in it).
Ingredients:
ACTIVE INGREDIENTS: Colloidal Oatmeal — 0.5%
INACTIVE INGREDIENTS: Water/Aqua/Eau, Stearic Acid, Glycerin, C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Glyceryl Stearate Se, Glyceryl Stearate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Butyrospermum Parkii Butter, Dimethicone, Squalane, Allantoin, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Caprylyl Glycol, Ceramide 3, Chrysanthemum Parthenium Extract, Disodium Edta, Eucalyptus Globulus Leaf Oil, Glycyrrhiza Glabra Root Extract, Sodium Hydroxide, Xanthan Gum, Phenoxyethanol.
It contains colloidal oatmeal as the active ingredient (it relieves itching caused by dry skin or eczema), shea butter, allantoin and the First Aid Beauty antioxidant booster (licorice root, feverfew and white tea).
People with acne-prone skin should test the cream first because shea butter and glyceryl stereate are great emollients, but they can clog the pores.
Price and accessibility:
I didn’t see First Aid Beauty in other stores, only a few products at Sephora. So, I guess it would be a little bit difficult to get it from somewhere in Romania. As far as the price goes, it’s very decent. A large jar retails for almost 160 lei, but the mini size (which isn’t so mini if you use it as a face cream) is just between 25 and 30 lei. I think it’s affordable for what it is, similar to most drugstore face creams out there.
My overall opinion:
Like I said before, I use this cream only on the face, not on the body (although it says on their website that it’s suitable for the body, including for children and babies), but I have to say that I think it’s a good hydrating cream for any type of skin, especially during winter or in cold climates. It feels very nice, it absorbs into the skin, it’s fragrance-free and I think it does what it say it should do: hydrate the skin. Considering that it also has an affordable price, I think it’s something that anyone can try that doesn’t look for special ingredients like anti-aging, firming, brightening and so on.
Of course, I couldn’t forget about drawer number 13 in the advent calendar!

Sleeping Mask

Since today was Sunday, I think this little surprise was more than suitable. It’s a black satin sleep mask that doesn’t have any branding on it, so I don’t know where it comes from. It’s very comfortable and I don’t have a sleeping mask, so this is perfect for vacations (when we will be able to travel again) because it often happens that we stay at hotels where there aren’t any dark blinders and I wake up too early in the morning because of the light. Of course, I have no idea what this is worth, so I won’t be including in the total value of the advent calendar.
That was it from me for today and for this week, we’ll see you tomorrow!
