Used-up and tested #25 – beauty products leaving my collection

I hope you all had a great start of the year and let’s hope 2021 will be an awesome year, one when we will finally beat this damn pandemic. And since it’s always good to start the year leaving all the trash behind, here’s what I used up in December. Spoiler alert: mostly travel sizes.

Balea Cold Softness Shower Cream

This was a winter limited edition scent, but honestly there’s nothing in it that reminds me of the winter season. However, it is a nice shower cream and Balea products are mostly good for what they cost. This one has a rose and tangerines scent that was an interesting mix (in a good way).

This Works Deep Sleep Body Cocoon

This was a good body lotion in terms of what it made for the skin, but the scent was what turned me off because the lavender scent was so powerful and I didn’t like it, so that I couldn’t wait to finally use this up.

Nuxe Prodigieux Body Lotion

Instead, this body lotion smelled so nice and it also felt very nice on the skin. This is something I would like to use again, but Nuxe products can be a little bit more expensive and I don’t want to spend much on body lotions.

Mio Sleeping Smoothie Overnight Serum

This felt like a serum, but for the body. It has a fresh citrus scent and it absorbs fast into the skin. I don’t think a body serum would really make a difference opposed to a body lotion, but it’s a nice product. More suitable for summer I would say.

Douglas Nutri Focus Nourishing Serum-Oil

I already told you I used this product during my PM skin care routine and I really liked it. It definitely sparked my interest for the Douglas Focus skin care line because they seem to have some cool products that are drugstore priced, so that’s good for my wallet.

Rituals Ritual Of Sakura Body Scrub

This cherry blossom and rice milk sugar scrub smells so nice that I want to eat it. It’s a combination of sugar and oils and it really makes the skin feel smooth because it exfoliates and it moisturizes at the same time. Some body scrubs leave the skin a little bit dry, but this one was one of the good ones.

Philip Kingsley Pure Colour Frizz Fighting Gloss

This was a styling product that I couldn’t get along with. The only time when I could make it work was when I would use only a very small amount. Otherwise, it weighs down the hair very much and it makes it look like it’s always wet. It’s good for those who like the wet hair look or for holding the hair in place for a bun or a braid or something, but since I like loose waves, this was a product that I absolutely hated.

Eve Lom Cleanser

This is just overprices vaseline with some herbal extracts in it to be honest and I wouldn’t want this cleanser again even if I would get it for free. It smells bad and it feels so greasy on the skin that it takes some work to wash it off. I didn’t like it at all.

Cien Mascara Volume

I wanted to give the Cien mascara a shot but honestly it’s not worth it. This mascara did almost nothing for my lashes and it was very runny. Even the smallest teardrop would make it leave black streaks on my cheeks. It was only about 2 euros but it’s really not worth it. I prefer spending more on a better mascara, especially since this is something I wear every single day.

L’Oreal Kohl Pencils

I decided to finally throw these two kohl pencils away although the colors are very pretty. The green one is shade 209 Antique Green and the purple one is shade 211 Purple Dream. The pencils are too soft and I can’t draw fine lines with them so I can’t use them in the waterline and I don’t use pencils on the lids (I prefer liquid or gel eyeliners or even eyeshadows for the lid). Sadly, these have to go.

Good Girl EDP by Carolina Herrera

I’m glad I got to try this perfume because I had a sample, but it’s not for me. It’s too…boring. I feel like the stiletto packaging is more interesting than the perfume itself.

This was everything I finished up in December except for the products I already reviewed so there was no point in mentioning them again. This month I want to be good and not buy any beauty products because I have to pay off my credit card first (those Christmas gifts did leave a whole in my budget), but I’m excited to see what 2021 will bring in terms of new products I will get to try.
