Filorga Time-Filler Absolute Wrinkle Correction Cream review

I remember I used a facemask from Filorga and I can’t say I wasn’t impressed with it, but now I got a face cream in the advent calendar in a travel size and the experience was definitely much more interesting, especially since I love good anti-aging products.

Packaging:

The full size contains 50 ml and it comes in a jar, but the travel size comes in a plastic tube with the classic black and white design.

Texture:

The cream has a very thick texture, although they say it’s a gel-cream. Honestly, it absorbs fast into the skin like a gel, but it’s definitely more thick than that. It’s white and it has a light scent to it, but I don’t think it would be something that’s bothersome.

Ingredients:

Well, this is a very long ingredients list, that’s for sure. The first 5 ingredients are water, glycerin, butylene glycol, dicaprylyl carbonate and isododecane. Butylene glycol is a type of alcohol usually made from distilled corn. It adds moisture and conditions skin and hair and it keeps the other ingredients from clumping inside of a solution. It’s the ingredient that makes skin care and makeup products glide on to the skin, which is why this face cream also leaves the skin feeling smooth and it glides on it effortlessly. being a humectant, it coats the surface of the cells. It’s recommended mostly for dry skin, but sometimes it can have also beneficial effects to prevent breakouts.

Dicaprylyl carbonate is a good emollient, that works as a skin-conditioning agent that spreads easily and leaves a velvety feel to the skin without feeling greasy or slick. It helps enhance the absorption of other ingredients into the skin.

Isododecane is a solvent and an emollient that helps retain moisture, spreads easily on the skin and helps provide a weightless feeling. However, if it’s used in high concentrations, it may irritate the skin, especially sensitive skin.

The formula also contains peptides, sweet almond oil, cogon grass root extract and babassu oil ( a palm species) that smooths and softens skin and that is also a good antioxidant.

The hydrogenate vegetable oil and the potassium chloride can have a pore-clogging effect.

Price and accessibility:

Filorga products are available in Douglas stores and also in several online shops. The products are quite expensive, this cream in particular retails for 89 US dollars. So it’s not exactly affordable considering that you go through a moisturizer in a month if it’s used twice a day.

My overall opinion:

I used this cream in the evening because I use something more lightweight in the morning. I can see why it has that wrinkle-filling effect, probably because of the emollients that glide on to the skin. I can’t tell if it really reduces wrinkles and fine lines because I didn’t have enough to use it more than a couple of weeks, but it does make the skin feel smooth and not greasy at all. I liked it and I would say it’s something that can be good for those looking for a good anti-aging cream, but the price is pretty much up there.
