Douglas Box Of Beauty Winter 2020-2021 unboxing

I wanted to treat myself these days, so I finally got the winter edition of the Douglas Box Of Beauty. This box comes out every 3 months (for each season) and you can buy it online or in store, but you have to purchase it each time you want it because it’s not a subscription box. The box retails for 119 lei (approximately 25 euros), but sometimes you can get a deal on it like 15% or 20% off. I got it at full price this time, but I still think it was a good deal because I got 3 full size products, 4 travel size products, two gifts with the purchase and some free samples.

The box usually contains Douglas products that are full size, so if you don’t like the brand, it probably isn’t the best option. Luckily, I do like Douglas products because I think some of them are great, plus they’re made in Europe and are cruelty free. Let’s see what we got in the box this time.

They changed the design of the box this time because it’s not just a simple magnetic baby blue box, but it’s smaller and more sturdier. I think it’s cute and the larger box was a waste of space for the size of the products, to be honest.

Douglas Hair Brilliant Color Tinted Care in the shade Brown

This is an interesting product because it’s a hair treatment that also works as a hair tint. Luckily, this is the brown version and I have dark brown hair, so this could may be something cool to try to freshen up the hair color in between colorings. The hair treatment retails for 65 lei (approximately 13 euros) and it’s a full size (150 ml). Later edit: you can read my review on the Douglas Hair Brilliant Color Tinted Care hair mask on my blog.

Douglas Makeup Harmony Blush Pearls

They also included a makeup product, a blush in the form of pearls that you can mix to create several shades. The pearls are shimmery. I must say I like the packaging because it’s like a hard cardboard box. I wear blush every day, so I will certainly put this to good use. This is also a full size product (20 grams) and it retails for 65 lei (13 euros), so we already exceeded the price of the box.

Douglas Clear Focus Purifying Clay Cream

This is a face cleanser for oily and combination skin with lime and tea tree extracts. I can always use a cleanser and again I lucked out because it’s exactly the type of product for my skin’s needs. This is another full size product (100 ml) and it retails for 69 lei (14 euros).

Missoni Wave Pour Homme EDT (5 ml)

They always tend to include a men’s fragrance in these boxes, probably so we have something for the boyfriends and hubbies as well. I like how they used a miniature bottle that looks just like the full size one. The miniature is worth 17.45 lei (4 euros).

Filorga Lift Structure Radiance Ultra-lifting Rosy-glow Fluid (15 ml)

I can’t say that I’m a fan of Filorga products, as I liked some of the and some of them were just meh, but it’s an expensive skin care brand, so I’m happy even with the travel size. The full size product (50 ml) retails for 337 lei, so the travel size is worth 101.1 lei (around 21 euros). Later edit: you can read my review on the Filorga Lift-Structure Radiance Ultra-Lifting Rosy-Glow Fluid on my blog.

Momopuri Milk Jelly Mask (1 sachet)

I’m a sucker for sheet masks, especially for ones that are made by Asian brands. These masks are usually sold in packets of 4, so we got only one in the box. I can’t read the instructions on the back because everything is in Japanese, but for some reason this makes it even more cool to me, because I get to try this brand. I can’t wait for my Saturday pamper session with this. A pack retails for 73 lei, so one mask is worth 18.25 lei (almost 4 euros).

Kevyn Aucoin Glass Glow Lip Gloss in the shade Crystal Clear (3.5 ml)

Another brand that I was always tempted to try was Kevyn Aucoin products mostly because I’m a big fan of the makeup artist that started this entire brands. However, they are on the expensive side and I never bit the bullet to get something. The full size is 8 ml and it retails for 105 lei, so the mini size is worth 45.93 lei (around 10 euros). Later edit: you can read my review on the Kevyn Aucoin Glass Glow lip gloss on my blog.

The total value of the box is 364.28 lei (around 75 euros), so it’s three times worth what I paid for it. I must say, this wasn’t exactly a box for everyone because two of the full size products (the cleanser and the hair treatment) are designed for specific types of skin and hair, but since there are products that are technically suited for me, I think it’s worth it.

Free gifts with purchase

I also received two gifts with my purchase because there were two typed of promotions on the Douglas website. One gift was received for buying 99 lei worth of Douglas Makeup products and one was received for buying 99 lei worth of Douglas Collection products. I guess they included the Box Of Beauty in both categories, because I received both gifts, so double the benefits.

One was the Douglas Heaven Lipstick Soft Matte Effect in the shade Pink Cocoon (full size) worth 65 lei (13 euros) and the other gift was a Douglas makeup pouch that I couldn’t find on the website, but I think it may be worth something around 20-30 lei (between 4-6 euros).

Free samples

They also gave me 3 free samples: a sachet of the Neutrogena Hydro Boost face cream, a mini size of the Douglas Home Spa Seathalasso body lotion (10 ml) and a sample of the Ariana Grande Thank U Next EDP (1.5 ml). Nothing too exciting, but they were free and were just a little bonus added to my purchase.

Overall, I’m very happy with the box because I will use everything that I got and I can’t wait to see what they will prepare for their spring box.
