Avant Pro-Radiance Brightening Eye Final Touch review

This is not the first Avant skincare product I use, but you know what’s strange? Although this is a high end brand, they sure seem to turn up frequently in beauty boxes which makes me think if anybody actually buys their stuff. Well, enough about that and let’s see what this eye cream is all about.

Packaging:

I have the full size product (10 ml), but mine came in a tube, while the “normal” packaging is a jar. They seem to also do that with the products they prepare for beauty boxes because they change the packaging like making them special edition or something.

Texture:

This is a very lightweight eye cream, so the texture is something between a gel and a cream. it doesn’t have the cooling effect that gels have, but it absorbs fast into the skin, so you have to move fast while applying it.

Ingredients:

Aqua (water), propanediol, mica, peg-8 dimethicone, maris aqua (sea water), sodium hyaluronate, hydrolyzed collagen, glycolic acid, vp/va copolymer, acrylates/c10-30 alkyl acrylate crosspolymer, peg/ppg-20/6 dimethicone, sodium hydroxide, ethylhexylglycerin, phenoxyethanol.

First of all, the ingredients list doesn’t contain any pore-clogging ingredients. The key ingredients listed on their website are mica and propanediol, which are also the first ingredients after water. Mica is supposed to reflect light from the skin and create the appearance of smoother, softer and more radiant complexion. Propanediol is meant to promote better penetration of ingredients to help promote hydration and provide a more even skin surface.

The next two ingredients are peg-8 dimethicone (a synthetic skin and hair replenishing agent, a fluid silicone) and sea water. The formula also contains glycolic acid and hydrolyzed collagen.

Overall, the ingredients look nice and I can see why it’s supposed to be a brightening eye cream.

Price and accessibility:

Like I said when I did other Avant products reviews, these are not exactly available here in Romania, I have only seen them in beauty boxes, on foreign online stores and, of course, in their official store. This particular eye cream retails for 112 euros, which is crazy for me, because at that price I expect it to do an eye lift on me.

My overall opinion:

I can’t deny that the cream does have a brightening effect on the undereye area and I also noticed that it helps smooth out the fine lines I have in the corner of my eyes, but I still wouldn’t pay more than 100 euros for a small jar of cream. This one lasted me for about a month (6 weeks tops, I can’t remember when I started using it), but I surely wouldn’t buy it. However, if you are willing and able to spend that amount for an eye cream, I think this one is very nice and it’s good to have smoother and more even skin, but I doubt that it’s some kind of miracle worker.
