Lookfantastic February 2021 – The Treasure Edition Box Unboxing

This month, the Lookfantastic beauty box was about a week late, because I don’t remember ever receiving it after the 15th of the month. Nevertheless, today it finally got here, just a great little treat at the start of the weekend. This month’s theme is “Treasure” as in love yourself, practice self love and all that jazz. I’m glad they included the booklet this time, although there are no prices listed and I have to look them up.

The box has a peach color which according to the booklet represents appreciation, sincerity and gratitude. And this is something that we should all treasure during these times, right? Now, let’s see what we got in the box. As always, there are 6 products here.

Eyeko Galactic Lid Gloss in the shade Zodiac (4 ml)

This is a sparkly cream eyeshadow that was available in two shades: Zodiac (a copper) and Stardust (a silver). I got a copper one. Now, I’m not the biggest fan of cream eyeshadows but Lookfantastic tends to put these in their boxes from time to time because this would be my third one so far. It’s not a full size (8 grams), but a travel size. According to the Lookfantastic website, this would be worth 36.02 lei (7.39 euros). Later edit: you can read my review on the Eyeko Galactic Lid Gloss on my blog.

Illamasqua Beyond Veil Skin Glowing Gel (6 ml)

This one is a glowing primer, which I’m also not that crazy about because I don’t use face primers, but I will give it a try. It was last month’s sneak peek and I was initially happy just because I like Illamasqua products. This mini size is actually sold on its own on the Lookfantastic website (the full size is 30 ml) and it retails for 36.16 lei (7.42 euros). Later edit: you can read my review on the Illamasqua Beyond Veil Skin Glowin Gel on my blog.

Balance Me AHA Glow Mask (10 ml)

This is a chemical facial exfoliant mask that contains lactic acid, malic acid, glycolic acid, tartaric acid, kaolin clay and linden. I’m not usually a fan of Balance Me products, but I do love my AHA’s so hopefully this one will be something good. Plus, I’m always down for a nice face mask. This travel size face mask (the full size is 50 ml) retails on the brand’s website for 10 euros. Later edit: you can red my review on the Balance Me AHA Glow Mask on my blog.

Magnitone London Wipeout Swipes (2 pieces)

These are reusable makeup removing pads. I will try and use them more because I don’t want to waste cotton pads if it’s not absolutely necessary. These ones are cute and they are also very soft so I will give them a try. I use makeup removing pads for my eyes because I wash my face anyway to remove the makeup, so I will try and use these for my eyes. A usual pack contains 6 wipes and it retails on the brand’s website for 17.33 euros pounds, so these are worth 5.77 euros.

Bubble T Strawberry Macaroon Hand & Body Butter

This one appears to be a full size (50 ml) because it’s the only variant I found on the brand’s website and it retails for 3.99 UK pounds (4.62 euros). It smells really nice and I will probably use it on the hands because it’s not a big size. since it’s still winter, it’s actually quite useful now, especially with all the sanitizers we have to use.

Madara SOS Hydra Recharge Cream (20 ml)

This was one of the options available, the other being the Elemis Papaya Enzyme Peel (15 ml). I would have been happy to receive either of the products. One thing is for sure, I haven’t bought a face cream in month because I’m always stocked up on moisturizers from the Lookfantastic box and from the advent calendar. This one contains northern peony, linseed and hyaluronic acid. The full size (50 ml) retails on the brand’s website for 36.95 euros, so the travel size is worth 14.78 euros. Later edit: you can read my review on the Madara SOS Hydra Recharge Cream on my blog.

February’s box has a total value of 48.98 euros, which isn’t bad, because it’s three times the price of the box, but it’s still one of the lower value boxes that I received. While I do appreciate the mix of products, this one was a little more skin care heavy with the cream, the mask and the primer which can be counted both as makeup and as skin care, plus a hand cream, a cream eyeshadow and some makeup wipes (a makeup item and an a beauty “tool”). My favorite thing would have to be the face cream, just because I can always use some face cream, next the face mask, the primer, the eyeshadow, the hand cream and the makeup wipes.

For the month of March, the sneak peek showed a mini size of the Christophe Robin Regenerating Hair Mask (50 ml) worth 9.77 UK pounds, so I’m hoping that there will be something better in the box because I don’t get excited about hair masks as I use them rarely with my oily hair.

Compared to last year’s February box, I think that that one was better, although they are both worth about the same (the last years’ one was worth 49.44 UK pounds), but the products were more useful to me. There was a full size toner from Naobay, a travel size face mask from Filorga and a mini size lipstick from Illamasqua that I still have just because I didn’t wear much lipstick last year, but the color was very nice. So, I liked last year’s box just because there were 3 products that I really liked as opposed to just the two in this box as the others are just “fillers” so to say.

However, I know that there are some great boxes and some ok boxes and this one was just an ok box to be honest. And I didn’t like the theme for February although I do get the self love thing for everyone, not for just who are in a couple, but still. Something more romantic would have been nice, like some products for a hot Valentine’s Day date night or something.
