Pantene Pro-V Volume + Deep Clean Shampoo review

At first, I didn’t want to write a review on this shampoo because I know it’s not available everywhere. For example, I couldn’t find it on the US Pantene website, and I also didn’t buy from a store here in Romania. Mine came from Germany and I bought it from a cosmetic outlet. I don’t know if the same product is available in different countries under other names or if it’s discontinued or what’s with it, but since I didn’t do many drugstore reviews lately and these are products that I actually buy, not the fancy expensive stuff I receive in beauty boxes, I wanted to spice things up a little bit and write a few things about this shampoo.

Packaging:

The shampoo comes in a plastic bottle with one of those caps that you have to press to open and close, so it’s very handy in the shower. The bottle contains 250 ml of product, but it’s probably available in other sizes as well.

Texture:

This shampoo has a thick texture, it’s clear and it has a nice smell. It’s not exactly my favorite, but it also doesn’t bother me, so it’s ok. I don’t have to use more or less than any other shampoo for it to get the job done.

Ingredients:

Unfortunately, I didn’t think about taking a picture of the empty bottle before I threw it out and I can’t find the ingredient list anywhere. However, I did find that it contains micellar water and the Pro-V complex they have in all their products. It doesn’t contain silicone, dyes and mineral oils.

Price and accessibility:

Like I said, this particular shampoo is available just online form what I could find, but it’s very affordable. I got mine for roughly 2.5 euros from an online cosmetics outlet, but I’ve seen for 4 euros on a Dutch website or for about the same amount I paid for on Amazon. So, it varies.

My overall opinion:

I wanted to do a review on this shampoo, because I liked it. It’s just a drugstore shampoo, but it’s for fine and oily hair and that’s exactly what I need. Something to add volume to my hair and to prevent oily roots. It can be a little drying on the length of the hair, but I would alternate using a hair mask every second wash before shampooing and it would make my hair feel smooth and look shiny. I still can’t get away with not washing my hair every other day, but I think I just can’t do it no matter what I use. I have oily roots and my scalp becomes itchy so I just have to wash my hair often. And I’ve used all kinds of shampoos, more expensive ones, shampoos from the pharmacy, natural shampoos, it’s all the same.

Plus, I’m really not a beauty snob and I think there are great products at the drugstore at well, regardless if its’ hair care, body care or even skin care products. The only issue is you have to take the time to find them because there are a lot of hits and misses.
