I got a sample of this perfume in my Douglas beauty box and my husband loved it so much (which is rare for him because he has particular tastes when it comes to perfumes) that I decided to surprise him and I bought the full bottle to give it to him as a present.

Packaging:

The bottle itself is beautiful, a creation of designer Carlo Colombo. It has a metallic cover that has a dark blue color with a satiny finish covered in groves and the writing is lime green, which I think are great colors for a summer perfume. Of course, it doesn’t matter when you decide to wear a perfume as I don’t think certain perfumes should be worn only during certain period. I got the big size, a 100 ml bottle.

Perfume notes:

Top notes: rum, davana and yuzu

Middle notes: geranium, hazelnuts and artemisia

Base notes: Italian leather, amber wood and tabac

It’s categorized as an Oriental, aromatic, woody perfume.

Price and accessibilty:

Trussardi perfumes are available in Sephora and Douglas stores, as well as in several online shops. At Sephora, the big bottle is sold for 366.50 lei (about 75 euros), which is what you would expect from an expensive perfume, but it’s not as expensive as other, considering that it contains 100 ml. Probably because it’s just an eau de toilette, not an eau de parfume.

My overall opinion:

Despite it being just an eau de toilette, the scent is very persistent throughout the day. It smells like a great combination between a fresh, citrusy perfume and a woody one, which makes it perfect to wear all the time really. It like that it doesn’t have the same old notes that just about any men’s perfume has, like those musky smoky notes and that it’s more light and fresh. It’s probably something common to Italian perfumes as opposed to the French ones.

When I smell a perfume, it always brings some images in my had, and when I smell this it makes me think of the sea, a luxurious yacht just wondering on the water and tanned people laying lazily in the sun on the deck, with some cold fruity cocktails in their hand. I think this is easier to explain what a perfume smells like, especially when you’re like me and you’re not really good at describing them.

I like it very much and I’m glad my hubby likes it too, because there’s nothing worse than having to smell a perfumes that you don’t like all the time.
