Used-up and tested #32 – beauty products leaving my collection

As you can tell from the contents of my empties basket, July was a month where I used up lots of bath and body products. There are a few items in there that are different, of course, but I decided to group them into categories, because otherwise it would have taken ages to photograph and write about each product.

Let’s start with the shower gels, because I managed to use up three of them.

Palmolive Berry Delight Body Butter Wash – smells yummy and does feel like butter on the skin.

Fa Polynesia Secrets – a shower gel that smells like exotic flowers and it also feels nice on the skin.

Balea Vamos a la Playa – the weakest of the bunch, it was supposed to smell like watermelon and mango, but honestly all I could smell was the mango…At least it’s a clear shower gel that doesn’t have any dyes in it.

Yves Rocher Coconut liquid soap and Bourbon Vanilla liquid soap – I have another vanilla one in the bathroom right now. The coconut one doesn’t smell good, I had forgotten that Yves Rocher doesn’t make good coconut scents, but the vanilla one, oh my god. I want a perfume that smells like this. If you like vanilla scent, this is definitely a must try!

BubbleT Strawberry Macaron Hand & Body Butter – this one also smells sooo yummy and it’s a decent cream. I used it on the hands and on the arms and I just fell in love with the scent. As much as I was disappointed with the BubbleT bath salt, the hand and body butter was a joy to use.

Dove Talco Spray Deodorant – turns out I like the scent of talc, because this reminds me of the Borotalco spray deodorants and that’s why I liked it so much. I found it in a little supermarket and I think it’s made in Italy hence the talc scent that I couldn’t find anywhere elese.

I also used up a Nivea Cream spray deodorant which I liked, but I didn’t kept the packaging because it was too dirty in the end. That’s the only reason why I wouldn’t repurchase that one.

Elmiplant Skin Moisture Micellar Lotion with prebiotics and saffron – this was a decent micellar water, not as good on waterproof makeup, but it was still ok, plus it was a big 500 ml bottle that I got for 3.5 euros and it lasted me for months.

Starskin VIP 7-Second Luxury All-Day Mask – the pads were nothing special, they were soaked in serum and you were supposed to use one side to rub gently on the skin the other side to pat the product in. I didn’t see any special effect after using it and I don’t think it’s different from any other sheet mask.

Avon A Marriage of Jasmine & Tuberose EDP – I managed to finish a perfume as well and while I liked it because I like the scent of tuberoses, it’s definitely not for everyone, as I got some comment here and there that I had a “strong” perfume on, which means they probably didn’t like it. Ooops!

I also declutter a few items from my makeup collection:

Sleek Matte Me liquid lipstick – this is the nude shade that I told you I didn’t like, so now it’s gone.

essence ho!ho!ho! highlighter – it was just too shiny for my liking and the pinky-purple shift was also ot something I was really into, so I didn’t use it much, it was just standing there in a drawer.

Douglas eye pencil – this was a mini-sized black eye pencil, it was ok but now it was just too little to still hold it properly so it was time to toss it out.

And lastly, a couple of perfume samples that I tried on my husband who kindly volunteered as a tester:

Dior Homme EDT – this one smells nice, classy and elegant

Paco Rabanne Invictus Legend EDP – I’m sorry to say but this was nothing special, it had just the same old, same old men’s perfume notes.

That’s it for the month of July, there were quite a few products in there. I hope you enjoyed my empties and let’s see what new things August will bring.
