I was surprised how quickly this month’s box came to me as I got it within the first week, something that hasn’t happened in a while. This month’s box has a special design, very colorful, to represent the theme. the theme “togetherness” stands for those moments that we are able to share again (under certain circumstances at least), which are social gatherings that we missed for a long time.
The theme sounds cool and all but I don’t see how this would make for a cohesive product assortment. However, let’s see what we have in the box. As usual, there are 6 items in here and as far as I could tell from the unboxings I’ve seen so far, there must be different variations of this because I got three different products than what I was expecting. I don’t mind because it would have been a hair spray that I think I received before and another hair product, a dry shampoo.

Filorga Age-Purify Intensive Serum (7 ml)

This is just a mini size, but I liked a few Filorga products in the past, so I will be happy to add this to my travel beauty bag. It contains niacinamide, sweet almond oil, citric acid and glycolic acid. The full size (30 ml) retails on the Lookfantastic website for 262.73 lei (53.48 euros), so the mini size is worth 12.47 euros. Later edit: you can read my review on the Filorga Age-Purify Intensive Serum on my blog.
Skimono Radiance Recovery 4C Eye Mask (1 pack)

This is a brand that I have never tried before, so I’m curious to see if the mask is any good or if it’s just fluff. These are actually eye sheet masks that are placed in the undereye area. The eye mask contains collagen, chamomile, cucumber and vitamin C (hence the 4 Cs). One pack is rather pricey as it retails for 10 UK pounds on the brand’s official website (11.80 euros).
Ahava Smoothing Body Lotion (40 ml)

Next up, we have a product from Ahava, a brand that I’m familiar with, also from the Lookfantastic beauty box. This is just a mini size of a body lotion that I will also pack in my travel beauty bag. It contains kale and turmeric, two superfoods that are put to use now in a body care product. The full size (250 ml) retails for 103.78 lei (21.12 euros) on the Lookfantastic website, which means the mini size is worth 3.37 euros.
Ciate Glow-To-Illuminating Blush in the shade Matchmaker (2.5 grams)

This was the product that I was most excited for and the one that was revealed in last month’s booklet. I always love a good pink blush and I never tried something from Ciate, so I’m happy even with the mini size of this blush.

I don’t know how much you can tell from the swatch, but this is a shimmery blush that gives a glow similar to the one of a highlighter, kind of like a mix of them both. I think it would look gorgeous on tanned skin during summer and not only.
The full size (4 grams) retails on the Lookfantastic website for 124.30 lei (25.30 euros), so the mini size (which is more than half) is worth 15.81 euros. Later edit: you can read my review on the Ciate Glow-To Illuminating Blush in the shade Matchmaker on my blog.
Bubble T Rhubarb & Custard Bath Fizzer (full size)

This one smells delicious and I cant’ wait to try it out. I hope it’s better than their bath salts thou. However, I did liked the hand and body cream very much, so I’m curious to see if this pink and yummy bath fizzer meets my expectations. A Bubble T bath fizzer retails on the Lookfantastic website for 16.89 lei (3.44 euros).
GLOV Mask Remover (full size)

Of course, there had to be something that I have no use for and this a microfiber cloth from GLOV that is supposed to be used to remove face masks. I just wash my face, you know? While the makeup removing pads grow on me (though in combination with makeup remover not just with water), I’m fairly sure I won’t be using this any time soon. For just a face makeup removing cloth it’s also expensive, 67.24 lei (13.69 euros) on the Lookfantastic website and I would never pay that much for it.
The total value of August’s beauty box is 60.58 euros, which is much better than last month’s box. It seems like this was more a pampering box as we had two skin care items (the Filorga serum and the Skimono eye mask), two body care products (the Ahava body lotion and the Bubble T bath fizzer), one makeup item (the Ciate blush) and one “beauty tool”, the GLOV mask remover. I love the blush and I’m happy for the skin care items and curious about the bath fizzer, but the mask remover was disappointing. The only full size items are the face mask remover and the bath fizzer (if we don’t count the eye mask as a full size product as well). Most of the brands are old friends, like Filorga, Ahava, Bubble T and GLOV, while others are new to me, like Ciate and Skimono, so it’s good to try some new things.
The sneak peek for September’s beauty box (which is also my birthday month) is…interesting. It’s a product we received before but one that I like, the By Terry Baum de Rose flaconnette (their signature lip balm). While I know that I will like the product, it’s not as exciting because it’s a product that I have used before. Hopefully there will also be some interesting items in the box.
Compared to last year’s August box, the value of the box is about the same. I can’t say that I liked one box more than another because we got many similar items. There was an Ahava body lotion, a face serum from Caudalie, a blush from Bellapierre which I still use, but the Ciate one looks cooler, a body wash from Mio (which was kind of meh) and two products that made me discover two interesting brands: the Perfecting Wonderbalm from Percy & Reed and a mini mascara from Eyeko. So I would say this time it’s a tie between the two boxes.
If you enjoyed this unboxing and you want to subscribe to the Lookfantastic beauty box, I would highly appreciate it if you would use my my referral code and subscribe. (But don’t feel obliged to do it!)
