Toni & Guy Volume Addiction Conditioner For Fine Hair review

I hadn’t been using conditioner for a while now because I was under the impression it was just making my hair feel oily faster, but my hairdresser told me that I do need it, even if I have oily hair because it’s dry at the ends because of the coloring process. So she recommended me to try something especially designed to add volume to the hair or that is made for fine hair.

While browsing through an online outlet where I shop from time to time for bath and body products and detergents that are cheap, I found this conditioner and I decided to give it a try, because it was also on sale for 50% off.

Toni & Guy is a British brand established by brothers Toni and Guy, who came from an Italian family that lived in England. They were both hair stylists and they opened their first salon in 1963 offering unisex services, which was something unusual at the time as there were hair salons for women and barber shops for men. They were soon joined by their two younger brothers as well, who worked mainly in photography and magazine work to promote the hair salons.

In the late 1970s they founded the TIGI brand, with a hair gel being the first hair styling product that they launched. The two brands, TIGI and Toni & Guy were somewhat separated and divided among the brothers and their respective families. For my part, I also tried TIGI products in the past and I liked the Toni & Guy formula more.

Packaging:

The packaging is really cool because the conditioner comes in a bottle that has a cap that enables you to open it with just one hand, just like pushing a button. I think it’s really handy to use it when you wash your hair. The bottle contains 250 ml.

Texture:

The conditioner has a lightweight texture, even if it looks like a white cream, like most products of this type. The scent is also very pleasant.

Ingredients:

Aqua (Water), Cetearyl Alcohol, Dimethicone, Stearamidopropyl Dimethylamine, Behentrimonium Chloride, Parfum (Fragrance), Dipropylene Glycol, Lactic Acid, Sodium Chloride, Amodimethicone, Disodium EDTA, PEG-150 Distearate, PEG-7 Propylheptyl Ether, Cetrimonium Chloride, DMDM Hydantoin, Phenoxyethanol, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone, Magnesium Nitrate, Magnesium Chloride, Citronellol, Geraniol, Limonene, Linalool.

Price and accessibility:

Toni & Guy products are available in Romania only in a couple of online shops and not the entire range, so that can be bothersome because it’s hard to always find a product that you like. I saw this conditioner ranging from 10 euros, to 6 euros and I got it only for 3 euros because I found it for super-cheap in an online outlet. They have only 4 products in stock now and I’m thinking about getting them all or renouncing to use this conditioner all together for now because I don’t know if I can get it again.

My overall opinion:

This is by far the best conditioner I have used in a long time. It makes my hair silky, smooth and frizz-free and it doesn’t weight it down or make it look oily. I have fine hair with oily roots, so it can be difficult to find the right conditioner. I absolutely loved it and it made me want to try some more Toni & Guy products, but unfortunately they aren’t easily available in Romania (for now). If they’ll ever be, I will most certainly try some more. They are not expensive, I would say they are just a little bit pricier than regular drugstore brands, but they are worth trying and for this conditioner in particular, I highly recommend it to people with fine hair because it adds volume while making the hair look healthy and feel smooth at the same time.
