During my recent vacation, I discovered a Lush store and I just had to check it out and see for myself how the products are. We don’t have Lush stores here, only in Bucharest as far as I know and we can’t order them online because they don’t have an online shop. So, for me, it was one thing that I wanted to try but I was never able to do so. I got two soaps that a lovely young girl help me choose and a gift set for my sister-in-law, so they also gave me a bunch of samples, even though I spend just around 30 euros there. let me just say, you would never see something like that in Romania.
Since I already used the soaps and they don’t look as nice and the other products are samples, I will use some pictures from the lush.com website (please don’t sue me, guys!)
Lush Honey I Washed the Kids Soap

Ingredients:
Water (Aqua), Propylene Glycol, Rapeseed Oil; Coconut Oil, Honey, Extra Virgin Coconut Oil, Perfume, Glycerine, Sweet Wild Orange Oil, Bergamot Oil, Aloe Vera Extract, Gardenia Extract, Titanium Dioxide, Sodium Chloride, Citric Acid, Sodium Hydroxide, Sodium Bicarbonate, EDTA, Tetrasodium EDTA, *Limonene, *Linalool, Amyl Cinnamal, *Citronellol, *Geraniol
This is a staple product from Lush and I chose it blindly, without even knowing what it is. It smells like honey and caramel and I just fell in love. It’s one of those scents that you don’t know if you want to use the soap or eat it.
Lush Sultana Of Soap

Ingredients:
Water (Aqua), Propylene Glycol, Rapeseed Oil; Coconut Oil, Perfume, Dried Currants, Dried Apricots, Glycerine, Dried Cranberries, Olibanum Oil, Bergamot Oil, Titanium Dioxide, Sodium Chloride, EDTA, Tetrasodium Etidronate, Sodium Hydroxide, *Limonene, *Linalool, Hexyl Cinnamal
This one smells very fruity and it makes me think of a fruit cake, but in a very good way. It’s sweet, but not too sweet.
Both soaps literally feel like butter on the skin, I have never experienced something like this with any other soaps that I used. the downside is that I think I will go fast through them because I already see they shrink a little after only a few uses. But at least my skin feels very soft after using them and I don’t need to use a body lotion after the shower or bath, I can just put my PJ’s on and go to sleep.
Lush Sleepy Shower Gel

Ingredients:
Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Glycerine, Sodium Cocoamphoacetate, Oat Milk, Lavender Flower Infusion, Lauryl Betaine, Perfume, Lavender Oil, Benzoin Resinoid, Tonka Absolute, Ylang Ylang Oil, Carrageenan Extract, Titanium Dioxide, *Benzyl Benzoate, *Coumarin, *Limonene, *Linalool, Colour 77007
I’m not the biggest fan of lavender scent, but this one has that tonka and ylang ylang in there that balance it out. It does make me feel more relaxed and I think it’s perfect for a bath in the evening to put me to sleep right away.
Lush Rose Jam Shower Gel

Ingredients:
Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Sodium Cocoamphoacetate, Glycerine, Water (Aqua), Vanilla Pod Infusion, Cypress Leaf Infusion, Lauryl Betaine, Perfume, Goji Berry Juice, Lactic Acid, Argan Oil, Rose Absolute, Rose Oil, Geranium Oil, Sicilian Lemon Oil, Citric Acid, Citronellol, Coumarin, Geraniol, *Limonene, Colour 17200
This I must say was not one of my favorites. It really smells like rose jam or like that Turkish Delight sweet. I love roses, but let me tell you, it’s too sweet for my liking.
Both shower gels had a thick consistency and they lathered up quite well. The Rose jam one looks like a classic shower gel, while the Sleepy one is like a thick shower cream and it really does have a lavender color.
Lush Orange Scrub

Ingredients:
Fine Sea Salt, Fresh Orange Peel Infusion, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Sodium Cocoamphoacetate, *Limonene, Fresh Orange Juice, Sicilian Red Mandarin Oil, Tangerine Oil, Bergamot Oil, Orange Peel Wax, Lactic Acid, Lauryl Betaine, *Citral, *Linalool, Perfume, Colour 15510
This smells like a real orange which is so rare in bath products and beauty products in general. It’s a sea salt scrub with some orange peel infusion in it and let me tell you, it smells delicious and I know now that i prefer salt scrubs over sugar scrubs for the way they feel on the skin and how my skin feels after.
Lush Dream Cream Body Lotion

Ingredients:
Oat Milk, Rose Water, Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Fair Trade Organic Cocoa Butter, Glycerine, Stearic Acid, Triethanolamine, Tincture of Benzoin, Rose Absolute, Chamomile Blue Oil, Tea Tree Oil, Lavender Oil, Cetearyl Alcohol, *Benzyl Alcohol, *Benzyl Benzoate, *Citronellol, *Geraniol, *Limonene, *Linalool, Perfume, Methylparaben, Propylparaben
The lavender scent is the strongest in this one, over the rose and the tea tree, but again, I don’t mind it. The lotion feels amazing on the skin and it compliments that Sleepy shower gel (or should I say cream) perfectly.
Lush Fairly Traded Honey Shampoo

Ingredients:
Fairly Traded Honey, Linseed Mucilage, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Sunflower Lecithin, Lauryl Betaine, Geranium Oil, Beeswax Absolute, Neroli Oil, Rose Absolute, Bergamot Oil, *Citral, Geraniol, Citronellol, *Limonene, *Linalool, Hydroxycitronellal, Perfume
This was supposed to be a shampoo for dry hair, which I figured was gone by amazing because my hair got really dry on the length during summer, but sadly I have to say I didn’t like it. I felt like my hair didn’t feel moisturized enough and still felt a little dry. It does smell nice, just like honey, but it’s just not for my hair type.
In conclusion, I love the soaps, the body lotion and the Sleepy shower gel, but I didn’t like the Rose Jam one because it was too sweet and the shampoo because it was not what my hair needs.
But I did fell in love with Lush products. I think they provide such an amazing sensorial experience with all the scents and textures that I really don’t care if all the ingredients are “good” and I don’t mind the higher price tag. Now I know what I will stuck up on the next time I’m on vacation in Vienna or what I will buy if I ever will be able to order Lush products online.

One response to “Lush products review (mostly soaps and shower gels)”
Thanks for this post I found it super helpful! I’m really trying to make better eco friendly beauty choices so Lush have been on my radar but I’ve only tried a couple of bits so far. The lavender etc scented products sound so lovely and relaxing!
