Myabelline The Classic Volum’ Express Mascara review

One of the first things that comes to my mind when I think about Maybelline is mascara. I think mascara is what launched them as a brand because they were the first that had a mascara on the market, if I’m not mistaken. Or a tube mascara. Either way, I’m too lazy to look this up, but I know they had something to do with mascara. My first mascara ever was a mascara from Maybelline, the classic Great Lash mascara with the pink tube and the green cap and I got it as a gift with purchase from glossy magazine and I remember I spent all my weekly allowance on that magazine just because I wanted the mascara. I was about 13-14 years old and my mother wouldn’t let me wear makeup asides from some tinted lip balms, but this time she gave in because I wanted that famous Maybelline mascara so bad.

Oh the memories…Now, since mascara is, like I said one of the three makeup products that I use every single day no matter what (even when I’m just at home because I put a little makeup on because I enjoy it, not because I have to do it for someone), it’s something that I need to have at all times. I saw this mascara as one of the bestsellers on the Notino website and I got it. And I have to say, I get it why Maybelline mascaras are the classic drugstore go-to products for so many people.

Packaging:

The mascara comes in a blue plastic tube with some golden details. It doesn’t look cheap, it looks like a very elegant packaging. The wand is thicker and it’s not rubber or plastic but it’s surprisingly good for applying the mascara on all lashes, even in the inner corner. The tube contains 10 ml.

Texture:

The mascara is not that thick, but it’s something that I like because I don’t like clumpy lashes. I think that the formula is more thinner and it helps to define the lashes better and therefore it adds more volume. Since I don’t have a problem with the length (which it does help with also), I always want something for the volume and I think that this mascara is good for the effect I like to obtain.

Ingredients:

G1489 6, AQUA / WATER, PARAFFIN, CYCLOPENTASILOXANE, ACACIA SENEGAL / ACACIA SENEGAL GUM, COPERNICIA CERIFERA CERA / CARNAUBA WAX, STEARIC ACID, CERA ALBA / BEESWAX, PALMITIC ACID, TRIETHANOLAMINE, HYDROXYETHYLCELLULOSE, DIMETHICONOL, AMINOMETHYL PROPANEDIOL, PANTHENOL, IMIDAZOLIDINYL UREA, SODIUM POLYMETHACRYLATE, METHYLPARABEN, HYDROGENATED JOJOBA OIL, HYDROGENATED PALM OIL, PROPYLPARABEN, MYRISTIC ACID, SIMETHICONE, BHT, 2-OLEAMIDO-1,3-OCTADECANEDIOL, POLYQUATERNIUM-10, SILICA [+/- MAY CONTAIN: CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499 / IRON OXIDES, CI 77007 / ULTRAMARINES, CI 77891 / TITANIUM DIOXIDE, MICA, CI 75470 / CARMINE, CI 77742 / MANGANESE VIOLET, CI 77510 / FERRIC FERROCYANIDE]. (F.I.L. D159185/3)

Price and accessibility:

This variant is not one that I saw in stores and I don’t know, maybe it’s not available in all regions. It’s made in Italy, so maybe it’s something for some European markets. But online it’s available in several shops, it’s not a problem to purchase it. I paid around 4 euros for it, which I think it’s a very decent price for a drugstore mascara.

My overall opinion:

This is one of my favorite mascaras I tried, hands down. I really like the formula, I also like the price, so it’s something that I would repurchase in the future. If you like a mascara with a thinner formula that works great for layering and adding volume, I think that this is something that it’s definitely worth trying.
