Opening my advent calendars 2021 days 1-4

Like I said before, instead of doing daily posts, this year I decided to show you what I got in my advent calendar every few days. So, let’s start with day number one.

From my Balea advent calendar,I got a mini Magic Is In The Air body lotion (50 ml) with vanilla and cloves scent. This is a limited edition product, created especially for the advent calendar and I really like the scent. The body lotion is made in Switzerland (I mention this just because often products from advent calendars are made in different places). This is a vegan product.

In my essence DIY advent calendar I got a full size product (well they all are), a Fruit Kiss lip balm in the 06 Coconut Lust variation with almond oil and coconut scent. It feels so nice on the lips and I love everything with almond oil in it. The lip balm contains 4.8 grams and is made in Poland. This is also a vegan product.

Finally in my Sinsay advent calendar (I have the red variant with colorful jewelry instead of the gold or silver one), I got a nice pair of earrings. They’re basically just tiny red balls, but I like to see them as red baubles because they make me think of Christmas tree ornaments. I wore them already and they were comfortable, I didn’t get any irritation on my ears which I tend to get with some metals.

Overall, this was a great start for the advent calendar season. I like all the things that I got and I can’t wait to open the next doors (or bags, in the case of the essence advent calendar).

After such a good start, I think day 2 was not exactly my favorite just because the products were not exciting at all.

In my DIY essence calendar I got some wood sticks for the manicure (which doesn’t surprise me because I put the more boring products in the first days). They’re ok, there are 5 sticks in there but I just don’t use these things because I don’t push my cuticles like that, I prefer to leave them alone as they are, thank you very much. The sticks are made in China.

In the Balea advent calendar I got another product from the Magic Is In The Air limited edition, mainly some feet bath fizzers with vanilla scent. There are two tabs in the packet (20 grams) so they are good for two baths and they’re vegan. The tabs are also made in Switzerland. I like to do a nice soak for my feet a couple of days a week, so this is nice.

Finally, in the Sinsay advent calendar I got two pairs of earrings (I hope there are not only earrings in here), one red and one green so you can wear them separately or combine the colors, but I won’t be wearing these. They are jingles. Literally they jingle at every move so it would drive me nuts to hear the sounds all the time. I like the Christmasy concept, but they’re not practical.

So, out of all the three surprises, only the feet bath fizzers are something that I would actually use, which is a shame, but I know the next days in the advent calendars are much better.

Day 3 was a little bit better. The Balea advent calendar had a Magic Is In The Air lip balm with butter cookies scent. It feels very moisturizing on the lips because it contains shea butter, but it’s not a vegan product because there is bees wax in it. This is another limited edition product, made in Switzerland and it contains 8 ml, so I’m guessing this is a full size one. The scent is very subtle and I must say I don’t sense much when I’m applying it on the lips, but I love the cute design and the fact that they thought about making some Christmas-themed scents.

In the essence calendar was the last boring product (there were just two that I have no use for), a pack of Magic Spell nail stickers (probably from a Halloween-themed limited edition), but I appreciate that they’re golden so they could work for some holiday manicure as well. But since I’m not excited about nail stickers, I’m glad that we got them out of the way. The stickers are made in China.

Finally, the Sinsay calendar had another type of jewelry. It’s a golden bracelet with a snowflake charm. I would have liked a little bit of bling in here, but it’s ok this way too. The bracelet has a flexible chain, so it fits even my chubby wrists and I like it. I like everything that’s snowflake-themed.

Day 4 came with another round of cute surprises. The Balea advent calendar had a Magic Is In The Air Winter Shampoo that contains 50 ml and is also made in Switzerland. This is a vegan product and it has a berry scent. I can’t wait to try it out because I need to wash my hair tomorrow, but I’m also a little concerned just because Balea shampoos have not been my favorites in the past. This is another limited edition product with the same cute design. I’m thinking about saving the little tubes although I don’t know what I will do with them.

The essence advent calendar had a cute makeup bag in it, that says “You’re a natural beauty” on it. It’s not that special, but it seems to be well made with the stitching and everything and that’s plenty of space in it. It’s made out of some sort of plastic material, but I’m happy about it because I did need a makeup bag. I gave away some of my makeup bags when I gifted some beauty products to my family, so this was actually a nice surprise. The makeup bag is made in China.

Finally, the Sinsay advent calendar had a golden ring for today’s door with a little star. The ring is not adjustable, but the sizing I think fits many people. I can wear it on my ring winger, but those with thinner fingers than mine (mine are a little chubby) can wear them on other fingers. I like it because it’s cute and dainty and stars are also great Christmasy motives.

I like all the products that I got on day number 4, maybe just the shampoo is a little iffy because of my past experiences with Balea shampoos, but it’s still nice that they put a variety of products in the calendar.
