December 2021 Lookfantastic Beauty Box – A Moment Edit (my last box)

Finally, today I received my last beauty box from Lookfantastic since my subscription expires this month and I don’t want to renew it. I won’t say I won’t ever get a box from them, but as a subscription, they have been too disappointing this year to continue.

This month’s theme is all about the holiday season, as it’s reflected in the burgundy and golden box, which is very nice (I must say the boxes were all very pretty and I kept many of them to store some things). The 6 items we received are nice, definitely something that is meant to help us feel glamorous during the holidays.

GLOV Satin Sleeping Mask

I can’t say that I’m a fan of sleeping masks because I don’t use them, only maybe when I’m on vacation and I don’t have a dark enough room to sleep in. This one seems to be well made and it’s golden so it looks very glam. It says in the booklet that is made 100% of mulberry silk, but that’s straight out a lie. On the little paper wrapped around the mask it says that it’s 100% polyester and not silk….Why make it seem like it’s something more high quality than it really is? This mask is sold for 25 PLN on the brand’s website (5.46 euros).

Lottie London Ombre Blusher (2.5 grams)

I’m excited for this product because I love blush and Lottie London is a brands that I haven’t tried so far. I don’t know if there are various shades in the box, but I got mine in the shade Haze, which is a beautiful pinky-coral blush with a satin finish.

Unfortunately, this is not a full size product, but rather a travel size as it also says on the back of the packaging that this is not meant for re-sale. The full size product (4 grams) is sold for 5.95 UK pounds on the brand’s website, so the travel size is worth 3.71 UK pounds (4.36 euros). The blush is cruelty free and vegan.

Hollywood Browzer

This was a last minute option for the box since in the booklet it says that we were supposed to get a Luxie blush brush to go with the Lottie London product. I was happy about that because I like the quality of Luxie brushes but something went probably wrong because they replaced the product with this razor for shaping eyebrows or for removing peach fuzz on the face. I will give it a try, but I’m disappointed that there was no explanation as to why they replaced the product and I’ve seen a couple of unboxings on YouTube and they received the brush so I don’t know what happened or why we didn’t all receive the brush. The Hollywood Browzer is sold for 50.74 lei (10.26 euros) on the Lookfantastic website.

Eyeko Spotlight Highlighter Pencil (full size)

This is a pencil highlighter to use on the eyes for the brow area or even in the inner corner. It’s in the shade Pearl and it feels very creamy. The color is a cool white shade. It contains jojoba oil and synthetic bees wax. Although I thought at first this is another travel size item, it’s actually a full size one (1.4 grams) and it’s sold for 84.75 lei (17.13 euros)on the Lookfantastic website.

Starskin VIP Gold Eye Mask

I wasn’t impressed in the past with Starskin products because I think they’re overpriced, but I won’t say no to an eye mask. It contains rose of Jericho extract and meteorite extract (what? how? why??? I guess it just sounds fancy). A pack of 5 pairs is sold for 124.30 lei on the Lookfantastic website, so one pair is worth 24.86 lei (5.02 euros).

Elemis Pro – Collagen Energising Marine Cleanser (30 ml)

Of course, since I love Elemis products, this was a nice surprise as I’m sure I will also like this cleanser. It contains Padina pavonica algae extract and a belnd of mineral-rich magnesium, Zinc and Copper. The full size (150 ml) is sold for 237.30 lei on the Lookfantastic website, so the mini size is worth 47.46 lei (9.59 euros). Later edit: you can read my review on the Elemis Pro-Collagen Energising Marine Cleanser on my blog.

The total value of the box is 51.82 euros, lower than the claimed value (if my calculations are right, of course). It’s a little disappointing for a December box but I do like the selection, although most of the brands and products are overpriced in my opinion. I wouldn’t spend 17 euros for a brow highlighting pencil or 10 euros for that brow razor and the sleeping mask and the eye mask are not wort 5 euros each if you ask me, because there are cheaper similar products out there. I’m most happy about the blush because it’s a color that I wear frequently and the Elemis cleanser, but the other 4 products just didn’t blow me away. We had 4 full size products but two of them are accessories that are more or less useful ( the sleeping mask and the razor), an eye mask for one use and the brow highlighting pencil.

The sneak peek for January’s box doesn’t make me excited at all because it’s just a This Works Deep Sleep Pillow Spray which is just a travel size and I don’t like the scent of This Works products anyway, so I’m glad I didn’t renew my subscription for next year as well.

Compared to last year’s December box, that one had an amazing value (more than 150 euros!) and we got an Avant eye cream (hence the high value), a Medik8 face serum, a theBalm eyeshadow, a full size liquid highlighter from Jecca Blac, a double-ended eye brush and a Percy & Reed travel hair spray. Even though I wasn’t crazy about the highlighter or about the brush, the rest of the products were quite nice and I enjoyed that box more.

In my opinion, the decline of this box just continues and that’s why I won’t be paying for it in the future. Maybe if there’s a month with amazing value or really great products, I will buy it, but considering I would have to pay 10 euros for shipping, I don’t think that I will be very interested in this.

If you enjoyed this unboxing and you want to subscribe to the Lookfantastic beauty box, I would highly appreciate it if you would use my my referral code and subscribe. (But don’t feel obliged to do it!)
