Avon Anew Lifting Dual Eye System review

I must confess I was a little weary about writing a review on an Avon product, because it’s a MLM company and everyone hates those, but lately I’ve been going back to using their products because I have a couple of co-workers who are consultants and what can I say, they got me with the glossy catalogues and deals on almost every page. Plus, if I do like some of their products it’s not a crime, I’m allowed to like them.

Packaging:

The eye cream consists of two products, an eye gel and and eye cream, that are both packaged in a half of the plastic jar. The jar contains 20 ml (10 ml for each type of eye product).

Texture:

One product, the orange one is an eye gel that is supposed to be used on the upper lid and the other is an eye cream with a thicker consistency for the under eye area. Both products do have a light scent, but it doesn’t irritate my eyes or anything.

Ingredients:

You know, this eye product is not half as bad because I do see some ingredients in here that I like.

Antioxidants are the purslane extract, the grape fruit extract, the carrot root extract and the skullcap root extract.

Skin-identical ingredients: glycerin and ceramice NG.

Soothing ingredients: fennel fruit extract

Sunscreen: benzophenone-3 and titanium dioxide.

Cell-communicating ingredient: palmitoyl hexapeptide-12.

Emollients: cocoglycerides, caprylic/capric triglyceride, cetearyl alcohol, petrolatum, shea butter Butter,  C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, coconut fruit juice, tribehenin

I really love all the natural extracts in here, the ceramides and the titanium dioxide as sunscreen. I’m not a fan of the perfume and the oxybenzone, but so far so good.

Price and accessibility:

Avon products are sold only through their consultants which is a pain if you don’t have one and you have to wait until they place their orders. This eye product is sold for about 5.5 euros, which is affordable and it’s also a generous quantity.

My overall opinion:

I decided to write a review about this because I found myself really liking the product. I don’t use it how they say, the gel only on the upper lid and the cream in the under eye area because I don’t have time in the morning to spend so much with applying creams and lotions, so I choose the gel for the morning because it absorbs fast into the skin and the cream at night.

I did noticed that the eye area feels very smooth and the fine wrinkles seem to be less noticeable, even the upper lids do look a little bit more “lifted”. By no means is this a miracle worker but it’s a very nice eye cream/system/what-ever-you-want-to-call-it and I already placed an order for my second one.
