I know it looks like I’m shilling Avon products but believe, I’m not a consultant so I really don’t care. But, since these are the products that I’m currently using, there’s no reason in hiding them. I struggled with my fine hair for a long time now, because I have a dry scalp and oily roots, so I always went for products designed for oily hair which would only dry my scalp even more. Then, I tried all kinds of volumizing products, but I also wasn’t happy with the results. Then, I said to myself, what do I want from my hair? Well, I want my hair to be bouncy, soft and shiny. I want it look like healthy hair, that you would want to touch, run your fingers through, you know? So, I chopped of half of my hair length into a medium bob because it was very dry and frizzy and then I bought the products from this entire Ultimate Shine line from Avon because they’re very affordable and I figured that if I don’t like them, then I didn’t lose much money. But, I am very happy to say that I did found my favorite line so far. Yes, my hair gets oily at the roots after two days and I have to cheat my way during day three with a dry shampoo, but I do it just because I don’t want my hair color to fade so fast, otherwise I wouldn’t mind washing my hair every other day. Now, these are all the products that I use each time I was my hair.
Avon Advance Techniques Ultimate Shine Shampoo

I have the 400 ml bottle which cost me only about 2.5 euros and it’s also available in 250 ml bottles and big 700 ml bottles.
Ingredients:
Aqua, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Cocamide MEA, Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride, Sodium Citrate, Parfum, Styrene/Acrylates Copolymer, Citric Acid, Disodium EDTA, Panthenol, PPG-12-Buteth-16, Phytantriol, Amodimethicone, Benzoic Acid, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone, Benzyl Salicylate, Linalool
The ingredients are nothing special, so I don’t know what the “Crystal Light technology” is supposed to be but I like that my hair feels soft and bouncy after using this shampoo and it does look shiny. Also, at least the panthenol is soothing and there is no alcohol in here.
Avon Advance Techniques Scalp Massage Brush

I started using a special massage brush because I always liked the feeling of someone massaging my scalp and I feel like the fingertips are not giving enough pressure and using the fingernails is a bad idea, both for the scalp and the nails. This helps me massage the shampoo better into the scalp and the big silicone bristles are not sharp and they don’t make any damage. Also, I find that it helps to spread the shampoo throughout the entire length of my hair.
Avon Advance Techniques Ultimate Shine Conditioner

The conditioner is available only in 250 ml bottles, which is a shame because I just just as much conditioner as I use shampoo. I use conditioner each time I wash my hair because it helps to detangle my hair since it’s so fine and also I like how the ends of my hair look like. No split ends here since I cut my hair! The conditioner is also available at the price of about 2.5 euros.
Ingredients:
Aqua, Cetearyl Alcohol, Stearamidopropyl Dimethylamine, Phosphoric Acid, Parfum, Dimethicone, Disodium EDTA, Oleth-30, Panthenol, Phytantriol, Amodimethicone, Ceteth-15, Choleth-10, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone, Benzyl Salicylate, Linalool
Again, the ingredients list is nothing special, just the panthenol that is soothing.
Avon Advance Techniques Ultimate Shine Treatment Serum

The treatment serum comes in a bottle with a pump that contains 30 ml. It may seem a little, but it has the consistency of a hair oil, so I use only a pump, I rub it on my palms and then I just run my hands through the ends of my hair to smooth them out. I think it also helps with split ends. To prevent them, I mean. Normally, it costs about 3 euros, but I got all three Ultimate Shine products on a bundle deal for 6 euros which is really a bargain.
Ingredients:
Cyclopentasiloxane, Alcohol Denat., Dimethicone, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Isopropyl Alcohol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Caprylyl Glycol, Parfum, Panthenyl Ethyl Ether, Phytantriol, Modimethicone, Limonene, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Hexyl Cinnamal, Linalool, Benzyl Salicylate, Geraniol
The ingredients list doesn’t look so promising, especially since there is alcohol in there, but at least there is also sunscreen, so it probably helps to prevent sun damage.
Also, I need to make a special mention regarding a hair tool that I received on Christmas and which changed the way my hair looks forever.
Remington Shine Therapy Hair Dryer

I had a very old hair dryer that didn’t doo much for my hair except for drying it, but since I got this hair dryer, I can easily obtain a professional looking blow out at home each time I use it. It may be because it’s an ionic hair dryer or what, but my hair looks so shiny and smooth as if I would use a drying hair brush (which I do have but it takes ages to get my hair dry with it). With this hair dryer, my hair is dry in 5 minutes, it has a lot of volume and it just looks like I’ve been to a hair salon. And it’s not expensive, so that’s another bonus.
So, that’s what I currently use on my hair and I already ordered another shampoo and conditioner set, that’s how much I like this products. I know the ingredients are not the best and they’re cheap, but you know what? If it works for me and my hair finally looks the way that I wanted, I don’t care. It just goes to show that you don’t need expensive hair products to look fabulous each day, you just need to use what works best for you. Just like with skin care.
