Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation review

I know the Fit Me foundation is nothing new, but it’s the first time I’ve been using it, believe it or not. The only thing that sucks is that I got a darker shade than I would have needed because of a stupid match guide I found on a website, but the name should have given it away. I’m pale like Casper the ghost, what made me think something with the word “beige” in it would fit me?

Packaging:

Since it’s a drugstore foundation, there’s nothing much to the packaging, just a same old plastic tube. It has a simple design, with black and green. The tube contains 30 ml.

Texture:

The foundation has a thick consistency but it’s super-easy to blend, so a little goes a long way. On the skin, it feels like a mousse foundation because it feels silky soft, but without making my face look shiny (most likely because it’s the matte version). I have the shade 112 Soft Beige, and like I said, I would have needed a lighter shade to fit me properly.

Ingredients:

AQUA / WATER / EAU CYCLOHEXASILOXANE NYLON-12 ISODODECANE ALCOHOL DENAT. CYCLOPENTASILOXANE PEG-10 DIMETHICONE CETYL PEG/PPG-10/1 DIMETHICONE PEG-20 POLYGLYCERYL-4 ISOSTEARATE DISTEARDIMONIUM HECTORITE PHENOXYETHANOL MAGNESIUM SULFATE DISODIUM STEAROYL GLUTAMATE HDI/TRIMETHYLOL HEXYLLACTONE CROSSPOLYMER TITANIUM DIOXIDE METHYLPARABEN ACRYLATES COPOLYMER TOCOPHEROL BUTYLPARABEN ALUMINUM HYDROXIDE ALUMINA SILICA GLYCERIN [+/- MAY CONTAIN / PEUT CONTENIR CI 77891 / TITANIUM DIOXIDE CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499 / IRON OXIDES ]

Price and accessibility:

Maybelline products are widely available at an affordable price. I got mine from an online shop for about 6 euros, which I think is more than reasonable for a foundations.

My overall opinion:

Although I have the wrong shade, if I use it sparingly and I blend it well, down to the neck, I can pull it off. Plus, when I will get a little tan, it will fit better. It does have a blurring effect on the pores and it has medium coverage, which I can also build up for acne and spots and other issues. It looks very natural and it lasts all day. It does transfer a little bit on clothes, so I’m just careful with what I wear. I like that it does mattify the skin without making it look dry or cakey, so I think it’s a very good foundation for oily and combination skin.

I can’t say this is my all time favorite foundation, but it’s one of the best I tried from the drugstore. I like a foundation from L’Oreal more, but this one has more coverage, so for days when my skin doesn’t looks so great it’s better. It’s one of the foundation I would recommend for someone who needs an affordable foundation with matte finish.
