Avon Anew Radiance Maximizing Peel-Off Gold Mask review

I wasn’t sure at first if it was even worth mentioning this mask on my blog, but then I remembered that I also want to write products that suck, so that others may avoid them. This is supposed to be a gold mask, and gold is already one of those ingredients that sounds fancy but doesn’t do anything for the skin, but if there were some other ingredients in this it wouldn’t be so bad.

Packaging:

The mask comes in a white and gold plastic tube and it contains 75 ml. It’s not bad or good, it’s just a simple design.

Texture:

Since this is a peel off mask, it has a gooey golden texture that dries down on the face after about 15 minutes. I don’t mind peel-off masks, but I’m also not one of the biggest fans.

Ingredients:

AQUA, POLYVINYL ALCOHOL, ALCOHOL DENAT, POLOXAMER 185, PARFUM, XANTHAN GUM, BHT, POLYMETHYLSILSESQUIOXANE, GOLD, METHYLPARABEN, MICA, CI 77891, CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499, BENZYL SALICYLATE, LIMONENE.

Now we get to the fun part. The mask doesn’t contain anything good for the skin, just some gold, mica (for the glitter) and alcohol. Which means it looks cool when you apply it on the skin but it doesn’t actually do anything for it.

Price and accessibility:

The mask is available only through Avon consultants and it’s sold for about 5 euros. It’s not an expensive mask, but it’s more than it’s actually worth it.

My overall opinion:

The skin feels dry after using this mask, probably because of the alcohol it contains and I can honestly say it’s really not a face mask, it’s more like a glamorous accessory for a pampering routine but without any real benefits. I don’t recommend it at all just because it doesn’t provide any benefits for the skin and there are plenty of good face masks out there.
