Aslavital is a line developed by the Romanian cosmetics company Farmec that contains clay from the Carpathian Mountains. The line is not new, because I remember I used Aslavital face creams years ago, but they did add some new products to their line. I liked it but I somehow forgot about it because I was so excited to always try new skin care products and that time they only had anti-aging creams which was not my main concern.
The Aslavital line is named after Ana Aslan, which was in Romania what Erno Laszlo was in Hungary, meaning that she created anti-aging treatments and products that were used by celebrities and even royalty. She was a biologist and physician specialized in gerontology and she still well regarded in this field to this day. She organized the Romanian Society of Gerontology and Geriatrics which was the first in the world to focus on clinic, experimental and social researches and to devise a therapeutic strategy to prevent the process of aging. It is said that among her patients or clients or whatever the may be called was American president John F. Kennedy. So, she was a remarkable woman, in my opinion, and I’m glad that Farmec continues to honor her legacy with the Aslavital skin care line.
So, now that I’m older I wanted to turn to products that are well loved in Romania, that are developed and manufactured here and that are affordable. Let’s see what this face cream is all about.
Packaging:
The face cream comes in a glass jar that contains 50 ml. The design is sleek and simple. Too bad the lid is made of a flimsy plastic because mine already broke when I tried one time to close it a little bit too tight.
Texture:

The texture is not too thick but it’s also not a light cream. It has a beige color probably because of the clay and a very light scent. I like it because it absorbs fast into the skin and it doesn’t look greasy during hot summer days, even it it’s not a mattifying cream.
Ingredients:
Aqua, Cetearyl Alcohol, Glycerin, Glyceryl Stearate, Zinc Oxide (nano), Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Olus Oil, Ethoxydiglycol, Butyrospermum Parkii Butter, Phenylbenzimidazole Sulfonic Acid, Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/ Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Phenoxyethanol, Dimethicone, Dipalmitoyl Hydroxyproline, Undecane, Isohexadecane, Triethanolamine, Ceteareth 22, Tridecane, Tocopheryl Acetate, Titanium Dioxide (nano), Methylene Bis-Benzotriazolyl Tetramethylbutylphenol (nano), Polysorbate 60, Magnesium Aluminum Silicate, Parfum, Tetrasodium EDTA, Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Ferulic Acid, Ethylhexylglycerin, Triethoxycaprylylsilane, PEG40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Sorbitan Isostearate, Alumina, BHA, Xanthan Gum, Decyl Glucoside, Caprylyl Glycol, Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein, Calendula Officinalis Flower Extract, Oryza Sativa Bran Oil, Glycogen, Simethicone, Sodium Hydroxide, Pectin, Butylene Glycol, Tocopherol, Propylene Glycol, Serine, Arginine, Proline, Glucose, Carrageenan
The key ingredients listed on the brand’s website are:
The complex of ingredients, which combines sunscreens with natural clay from Pădurea Craiului Mountains, with the marine extract CobioDefender EMR, Ferulic Acid and Vitamin E, provides protection against oxidative stress caused by pollution, ultraviolet radiation and radiation generated by electronic equipment.
Natural oils, with an emollient role and restoring the hydro-lipid balance of the epidermis, together with the amino acid complex Sepilift ™ DPHP and the moisturizing complex Lipomoist ™ 2036, ensure an increased capacity of absorption and maintenance of water in the tissues.
The face cream is packed with all kinds of good ingredients. There are antioxidants (ferulic acid, pot marigold flower extract, tocopherol and rice oil), skin-identical ingredients (glycerin, serine, arginine, proline), sunscreen (zinc oxide, titanium dioxide, Phenylbenzimidazole Sulfonic Acid, Methylene Bis-Benzotriazolyl Tetramethylbutylphenol (Nano)), emollient ingredients (shea butter, olus oil – vegetable oil composed mainly of triglycerides of fatty acids, dimethicone, simethicone).
Price and accessibilty:
Farmec products are available in beauty shops, pharmacies and supermarkets, but they usually don’t have all the products from a line. However, they have an online store where there are often sales and gifts with purchase offered, plus there’s free shipping when you spend around 15 euros (80lei), so that’s my preferred place to purchase their products. This particular face cream is sold in the Farmec online shop for only around 6 euros, but in stores it can go to as high as 9 euros. Also, I got it in a gift set with a full size face mask for 8 euros, so I think it was a very good price.
My overall opinion:
I use the face cream in the morning because of the SPF and I have another face cream for the evening, but you know what, I really like how it feels on my combination skin especially since I have problems with what face creams I use during summer because I tend to sweat a lot. I want to try more products from this line because there are other face creams as well, a micellar water, collagen ampoules, a makeup removing lotion and other things as well. This is an underrated line in my opinion because, from what I can tell other Farmec products are more popular now, but it should definitely be appreciated more.
