Opening my 2022 Yves Rocher advent calendar days 21 – 24

And here we are, in the last 4 days of the advent calendar. I hope the last gift is something really nice, because I’m not that excited about all the minis we had so far.

Day 21 – Sensitive Camomille Soothing Light Cream

This is only a tiny tube, but I have to say the face cream does feel very nice on the skin and it has a light consistency. It’s supposed to be best for sensitive skin because it has soothing effects, but I find that it works just fine on combination skin as well. The full size tube contains 50 ml and is sold for around 12 euros, so the mini size is worth 1.68 euros (I’ll round it up to 1.70 euros).

Day 22 – Hair Repairing Mask for ends with jojoba

I like anything with jojoba in it, so I think I will also like this hair mask for ends. I received a shampoo, a conditioner, a rinsing product, so a hair mask was all that was missing in terms from hair care. This product is actually available in the 35 ml size, like this one from the advent calendar and it’s sold for around 3.5 euros.

Day 23 – Sur la Lande EDP

Time for another mini, but this time I can get behind it because it’s a perfume. Sur la Lande is a floral perfume, very much like all Yves Rocher perfumes. The perfume notes are camomille, jasmin, wood notes and marine algae absolute. It’s a nice everyday scent, delicate and not too sweet with a good longevity, at least on my skin. It’s available for sale in two variants: a 30 ml bottle and a 100 ml bottle, so I think the bigger size is the most popular. That one is sold for 60 euros, so it’s not exactly affordable. The 5 ml mini bottle is worth 3 euros.

Day 24 – Intense Metamorphose Mascara

I would like to say that the last day of the advent calendar is really special, but I’ve seen many calendars that end on a high note with a full size product that is a mascara. I love mascara, it’s something that I use every day, and I appreciate the fact that it has a different packaging especially made for the calendar. So, I like the gift very much, it’s just not that big of a surprise. The tube contains 7.8 ml and is sold for around 19 euros, so it’s not exactly affordable. I hope it’s a good one.

So, the total value of the last 4 days is 27.20 euros, but the value is given mostly by the mascara from the last day.

The total value of the advent calendar, by my calculations is 77.95 euros. Given that the calendar was sold for 70 euros, that’s not a great value at all. There are very few full size products and all the others are just minis. I got it cheaper for 45 euros, so at least I got more for my money, but at the full price…I wouldn’t say it’s a good deal.

The positives: the design is beautiful, with the boxes and all and it’s easy to reuse it or to recycle the entire thing. The variety of the products was good, we had a little bit of everything, including products from this year’s holiday collection.

The negatives: it’s not one of those calendars where you can make a deal for the price. I mean, if you get it at full price, you don’t even get an extra 10 euros worth of products. Also, the mini products were just too small, especially the bath and body products. 50 ml is really small for a shower gel, or 30 ml for a body lotion.

In conclusion, it was a nice experience, but I won’t be repurchasing this advent calendar again because I want to get more for my money, not just 3-4 products and a bunch of mini products.
