Oriflame Amber Elixir Crystal EDP review

Lately, I’ve been so into expanding my very small perfume collection consisting of only a couple to something larger but since I don’t have much money to buy perfumes, I decided that I like the ones from Oriflame enough to buy a few. The first I want to talk about is the one that I got in my welcome kit when I signed up as a consultant. It was an opportunity to get it at a very reduced price, so I figured, why not?

The perfume was launched back in 2017, as an extension to the already popular Amber Elixir perfume and it was created by Christiane Plos. It’s described as an oriental-floral perfume, but it’s not as heavy as some oriental perfumes tend to be.

Packaging:

The bottle is simple, yet elegant. It looks blue, but the perfume also has a blue color, which is kind of cool. It’s a very simple bottle with a plastic cap, so it doesn’t feel heavy because it’s a drugstore perfume. The name of the perfume is not mentioned on the bottle, but it is present on the golden lid.

Top notes: grapefruit, Baltic amber, aquatic notes

Middle notes: orange blossom, nigella, violet

Base notes: coconut milk, vanilla, brown sugar

Price and accessibility:

Oriflame products are available for order only from consultants or if you become a consultant. This perfume is sold at full price for around 27 euros, but there are often sales and reduced prices on perfumes. I got mine as part of a kit for 20 euros, so I don’t know how much I paid just for the perfume.

My overall opinion:

This perfume is not exactly my cup of tea because I prefer floral or citrusy perfumes, but I can’t say that I dislike it. The longevity is not that great, at least on my skin. After about 4 hours I feel like it’s gone, but since it’s not an expensive perfume I can’t say that I complain. I don’t know who I would recommend it to, I don’t think it’s “unique”, but it’s also not generic, so I does smell a little different than the cheap perfumes. It’s an ok affordable scent, for those who like the predominant mixture of floral and sweet notes.
