When I was doing some shopping in my favorite natural cosmetics online shop, I stumbled across these fragrance oils. Now, technically they’re meant to be used as room fragrances or as textile fragrances in oil burners or in fragrance diffusers. But, don’t judge me for this but I used them as perfumed oils on my skin.
I don’t recommend it, I know they can irritate the skin but I did a patch test first and there was no problem whatsoever. Why I used them? Because I like perfume dupes. I love many famous perfumes just like any person, but I can’t afford them. I tried some dupes here and there but the scent wasn’t really or dupe or the longevity was really poor. These fragrance oils are really awesome and the scent does stay on throughout the day. They smell a little strong at first, but they are very long-lasting and that’s all that matters to me.
Aromatique is a Polish brand that does scented candles, scented waxes and scented oils. Many of the oils are just basic scents like orange, cinnamon etc., but they also have quite a few fragrance oils that are dupes for designer perfumes. I think the names give them away, but I’ll let you know what I got.
The oils come in 10 ml bottles with droppers and you really need just a few drops to use them as perfumes. I applied them on my neck, on my wrists and on the collarbone and I didn’t have any rashes or anything like that. But I repeat, you really should do a patch test first because they’re not meant for the skin. Although, I think it’s a little funny because why would you want to have room scents that smell like perfume?
Each fragrance oil costs only around 2.5 euros which is dirt cheap, as you can imagine, even if it’s just 10 ml. Like I said, a little goes a long way and it’s nice to have the option to get small bottles especially for the perfumes that you are not familiar with.
I got three fragrance oils as follows:
Very Bad Girl – a dupe for Carolina Herrera’s Very Good Girl. I don’t know this perfume but it does smell very nice, especially the rose and the vanilla notes.
Nomadic – a dupe for Chloe’s Nomade Absolut. I also didn’t know this perfume but I love the classic Chloe perfume so I decided to give it a try. The sandalwood note in this one is very seductive.
La Bella – a dupe for Lancome’s La Vie Est Belle. Of course, I had to get a dupe of another of my favorite perfumes. And you know what, it really is very very similar. It’s not exactly like the real perfume but it’s a lot better than another dupe that I got a while ago and that I was stupid enough to pay 30 euros for.
In conclusion, are these good dupes? In my opinion, yes. Should you be very careful to use them as perfumed oils on the skin? Yes, very! But, I for one don’t regret getting them and I want to get other fragrance oils as well.
