L’Oreal Revitalift Filler face serum and face cream review

Although I like to test all kinds of products, especially skin care one, I somehow make my way back to L’Oreal. Why? Because even if they get all kinds of shit because everyone wants “clean beauty products” and “all natural skin care”, my personal opinion is that skin care should benefit from all the other lab discoveries and not just rely on ancient practices. Not that there’s something wrong with people who want all natural skin products, it’s just a question of to each their own, like bein vegan or not vegan.

Anyway, I digress. I got a gift set on sale from the Notino online store which has a face serum, a face cream and an eye mask, all from the Revitalift Filler line with hyaluronic acid. So I’ve been using the products for a couple of weeks now and I think it’s time to do a review.

L’Oreal Revitalift Filler face serum with 1.5% hyaluronic acid

Packaging:

The face serum comes in a cute clear glass bottle with a pump and it contains 30 ml.

Texture:

The face serum looks like a gel, but it has a lighter texture, it’s clear and it does have a bit of a scent, but I don’t mind fragrance in my skincare.

Ingredients:

Aqua / Water, Glycerin, Hydroxyethylpiperazine Ethane Sulfonic Acid, Sodium Hyaluronate, Dipeptide Diaminobutyroyl Benzylamide Diacetate, Disodium Edta, Secale Cereale Seed Extract / Rye Seed Extract, Ascorbyl Glucoside, Peg-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Pentylene Glycol, Benzyl Alcohol, Benzyl Benzoate, Benzyl Salicylate, Citronellol, Linalool, Chlorphenesin, Phenoxyethanol, Parfum / Fragrance

Aside form the fragrance, which like I said, I don’t mind because it doesn’t irritate my skin, this serum does have some awesome ingredients like glycerin, sodium hyaluronate (the hyaluronic acid), dipeptide diaminobutypropyl benzylamide diacetate (which is a an excellent cell-communicating ingredient, a peptide that is called “botox in a jar” because it targets wrinkles caused by facial movements) and ascorbyl glucoside (antioxidant and skin brightening ingredient).

Price and accessibility:

L’Oreal products are available in some beauty stores like Douglas and DM but they often don’t carry a large variety, so online shops are the place to go. This face serum is sold for around 19 euros, which is a bit much for my liking, but L’Oreal has gotten quite expensive now so…I guess if you want something good.

My overall opinion:

The face serum absorbs fast into the skin, even it feels a little sticky, but it does plump up the skin. I didn’t use that much yet because I use it only in the morning, in combination with the face cream, but it should be applied in the morning and in the evening. I use it sparingly so I don’t have to buy a bottle each month. I’m cheap, I know.

Packaging:

The face cream comes in a beautiful grey glass jar and it contains 50 ml. I’ll give them that, L’Oreal always has nice packaging.

Texture:

The cream has that fondant texture, that melts so nice into the skin and it doesn’t make it look shiny or oily. I like that because I don’t have dry skin and all those glowy face creams make me look too shiny.

Ingredients:

Aqua / Water, Glycerin, Dimethicone, Isohexadecane, Silica, Hydroxyethylpiperazine Ethane Sulfonic Acid, Alcohol Denat., Dipropylene Glycol, Synthetic Wax, Ci 77163 / Bismuth Oxychloride, Ci 77891 / Titanium Dioxide, Secale Cereale Extract / Rye Seed Extract, Sodium Acrylates Copolymer, Sodium Hyaluronate, Phenoxyethanol, Adenosine, Peg-10 Dimethicone, Ethylhexyl Hydroxystearate, Nylon-12, Dimethicone/Peg-10/15 Crosspolymer, Dimethicone/Polyglycerin-3 Crosspolymer, Pentylene Glycol, Synthetic Fluorphlogopite, Benzyl Salicylate, Benzyl Alcohol, Linalool, Benzyl Benzoate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Caprylyl Glycol, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Alpinia Galanga Leaf Extract, Disteardimonium Hectorite, Disodium Edta, Citronellol, Parfum / Fragrance. (F.I.L. B166675/2).

Some of the nice ingredients in here are glycerin, sodium hyaluronate, adenosine (cell-communicating ingredient that helps with wound-healing, it’s anti-inflammatory, improves skin elasticity and helps with repairing the skin’s barrier) and dipotassium glycyrrhizate (a powder obtained from the licorice plant that has soothing and anti-inflammatory properties and helps with sebum regulating).

Price and accessibility:

The face cream is available on Notino for about 14 euros. For a good face cream, it’s not such a bad price.

My overall opinion:

I really like the face cream because it makes my skin looks nice and smooth and it doesn’t feel oily at all. In combination with the face serum I do feel like it does something to my skin. I’m not saying that my fine lines are gone, but I can see that there’s an improvement and it’s been only two weeks. I don’t know if I will specifically repurchase these products, but for me, L’Oreal just never disappoints when it comes to skin care.
